One of the more expensive and time consuming project this summer - and no I didn't paint it myself - not going to find me climbing up 40 foot ladders! Let me know if you want to see more videos about the house.
I‘ve always admired American stately homes of the the 1700 and 1800 centuries, just beautiful and such gardens and land 😲😲😲👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊😊😊 I just got my windows painted in my very tiny Swiss semi detached house …but….what it must have taken for your beautiful, beautiful mansion 😄😄 You are preserving great American heritage my‘ol mate and cap off to you 👏👏👏👏👏😊👍👍
Thanks Redcoat - I think we share a mutual interest in both history and architecture. I have always been amazed and buildings and homes in the UK that at centuries old. Thanks for watching.
What a gorgeous older home you have Scott. I was initially thinking the same thing... It's a brick house, how bad could it be haha! 😂 OMG what a freaking project! God bless that young brave man!
Thanks BCR. Now you are shaming me into admitting that the painter is almost the same age as me! While I still like to still think of myself as a young man- I’m smart enough to know that my old ass should not by climbing up those ladders!
@@ScottUrbach Oh hell no! Even though I do almost all projects and repairs at my place, that is one job I would not touch haha :-) I've been working on staining my house the last couple of summers. I have a little left to finish up next summer. But I only have a 1 1/2 story. I have to hire someone to do the top quarter of the chimney because I'm not going up there!
Loving your channel. Our home was built in 1864. It has been in my family for 4 generations. It got put on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. We can do pretty much any restorations inside and we got it put on the list. It can be a pain doing work on one facade.
@@ScottUrbach i hope you can. My late father did on 2008 and I’m glad it is on it. We don’t want it to be destroyed. It is 10779 evergreen avenue, mt horeb (Daleyville), WI, 53572.
I really enjoy seeing these home projects so yah I’d like to see more. Painting a house that large would be very time consuming for sure I have to do my 2 story 3600 sq foot house here soon and I was quoted $6k - $7k so yah very pricy
Hi Scott, funny thing, I was just searching home Cigar humidors and I ran across your channel. Then I saw you had a Koi pond, -we had a large one in Arizona, they are a relaxing joy. Harley, I’ve had 11 bikes over the years & additional fun logging 14,700 hours of jet helicopter shenanigans. Putting a smoking room in the house, check, hopefully within 2 years. What cracked me up is the video of your house getting painted. I thought - that looks familiar :)? We’re completely refurbishing a historical house by Lake StClair in Grosse Pointe Farms. The grand staircase’s brass & iron was constructed in France in 1782. The rebuild started inside (where it still is) with the kitchen. That should be finished in a few months. Then on room by room to the rest of the house. We probably won’t even start on the outside till next spring. But it’s “whatever you think it’s going to cost, triple it.” The craftsmen have been 1st rate. So small world, we’re basically neighbors :) Fun channel: Will subscribe ! :)
We seriously have a alot in common. Along with cigars, motorcycles, koi, house projects etc I also have a few hours logged in fixed wings. Still a bit short of what I need for my ticket. We may need to get together and have a cigar and a bourbon!
