Lol, you think they're actually going to live in these shipping containers? This is government /UN reality TV show designed to normalise cramped and substandard accommodation among the millenial demographic, and these people are actors. Their job is to destigmatise trailer living and associate it with "professional" people, rather than unemployed drug addicts. Search agenda 21.

Having *ALL* this time together is the *best part of what your doing* !!! Prior to my husband dying (😢2008) ,We had a life very much similar. I worked remotely in technology. My husband got his Commercial Brokers Licence. We worked part time from home and made mad money. We had condo in Dana Point CA. Then we eventually moved to Kailua Hawaii. House on beach pool front yard - which was back yard😜. Years passed and we looked at each other and *wondered, 'How did we get so lucky".* We were so happy and so *great-full.* Miss him so much, I would trade any of that to have had him many more years even if we lived in a Trailer Park!!! 😆 lol Seriously, when your lucky enough to find your soulmate, it's like there's nothing you both can't accomplish & or achieve!!!!!! 💞💞😊💞💞😊💞💞

Hey Spencer. Not trying to be that guy, but here's some advice for planting new plants. When you dig a hole, make sure it is at least 2 or 3 times as big as the volume of the plant container. This is to ensure the plant can increase the size of its rootsystem quickly, due to the loose soil you will put back in. That way the succes rate of planting is higher. Especially in that dry compact soil. Secondly you could add in some fertilized pot soil to give your new plants a head start just mix it 1 on 1 with the soil you have. It also stays moist a lot longer. Pot soil works kinda like a sponge. But it might be rich soil anyway. In which case you could add regular pot soil. So that's for you to judge. I hope you get to enjoy your new plants soon. They look nice.

If it's dry ground too... Wet it first 💦 It's a lot easier to dig the hole deep enough & then water it after you plant. My dad had over an acre of garden & was amazed at what he grew & brought to the table!! Whatever you wanted, we could just go outside & get!! Apples, pears, grapes, currants, & all the veggies your lil angel is gonna stay healthy on!! Great cuz you know what's not added to it!!!! 😊

I think those are the folk who the couple mention from time to time who are insisting that they work on the inside. I totally agree, the decision what to work on belongs to the people you own the house. Most people are so used to regular tv shows that they can't make the change for a reality show with real people working on real items for their real lives. The bottom line is, I am loving to witness their journey, and it is nice to see 2 people making decisions about what is important to them.

@@loveofiber7564 I built my own home, just my wife and I, 1750sg.ft. living area on a slab, I worked on the inside first but got a bedroom, bath and the kitchen done and I moved in. after that I finished the rest of the inside then started on the outside. I never regretted doing it. I couldn't stand looking at the house and not moving in it. But this is just my opinion, it didn't make sense to me to be staring at a home when I knew I could move into it by doing a few small things to it especially with the crazy weather we get in the South Eastern US.

@@docbrown6550 Dear Doc, that was a marvelous experience, building your own home the way you wanted. I have to say that I envy you the journey and hope that you followed your own heart and mind in the entire build. I, myself, spend too much time regretting not having been able to do things like that, make my own decisions put my place together to suit me. I have spent most of my time on schooling, and, after I finish school, working. So, it is a treat to see those 2 kids building their home the way they want to and expanding their family as they can. I am not saying that the sequence of building the inside first is bad or not possible, I am just saying that it not the sequence that appeals to the couple in question. I am also saying that it is their prerogative to build in the sequence they want, and we, the audience are permitted to watch, it is a privilege, not a right. I am saying that it would be proper etiquette to accept their decisions when they make them, suggestions are welcome, but insistence is just rude. I wish I could have shared your experience, because it sounds like a wonderful journey, I would have offered suggestions when asked, but I would not have interfered with your decision making. I also don't feel it is acceptable to dislike their video for the disagreement, if that was indeed the reason.

Unfortunately my fiance passed away on Friday, a day before his 29th birthday. That is why I will continue to watch your videos as I know he would to until you are ready to comlete your project. And don’t pay attention to the people pushing you to finish quickly, this is your journey and it is not about when it will be finishe it is about the process. It is about love between two people. Hold on to that with no anger or frustration as it can be taken away in an instant. When doing these videos remember there are people whom life you have touched that are watching you from the above. If you decide to apply a second coat of paint I recommended that you look into a coasting called Supertherm. It has great heat transfer reduction and reflection. Great for Texas. I grew up there so I know. Come white but can be tinted in light colors. Look it up you will be impressed.

I'm so glad to see your smiling faces. I started smiling myself when the notice showed up! Thank you for getting the rockers. They are truly a blessing in comforting a child and helping you relax after a long day. May I please recommend digging those holes a little wider and adding compost and a little peat moss so the roots can expand some. Watering at the base of the plants in the morning prevents moisture loss and burned leaves. As they aren't established yet they will need water frequently the first year.🌹🌱👩‍🌾🐱🌻🍉

dont forget when your planting from a pot to the ground you need to break up the root ball a little to encourage the roots to grow outward other wise the roots stay a knotted mess and wont be as proficient at getting ground water or be as stable at supporting its self its like putting your feet together and some pushing you vs spreading your feet apart
@thewhatsup
@thewhatsup 4 года назад
So true. To add: CO dirt was so dry that I would dig a little then fill the hole with water. I could then dig the bigger hole the next day with the soften ground.

30 years from now they'll still be working on this abortion of a house. I suspect they're actually dragging it out for the you tube income, probably at youtube's encouragement, because so many people have no lives to do other things except anxiously wait to watch this joke. And people wonder why they're in the lowly financial position they're in.

I love you guys. You're perfect together, you're honest and hardworking and you're doing an amazing job. Not just with your new home, but with all that you do in your videos too. My favorite channel. I wish I lived close to you guys, I would have come and spent my days helping with anything you needed. I would have been happy to paint that whole home. I'd have used an airless spray unit. Done in no time at all. I'm 60 years old and I have been renting all my life. My dream, for the past 40 years, is to do exactly what you guys have done. I'm close to buying a piece of land to start but still short on cash. It may never happen, but I'll never stop dreaming about it. God bless you all.

Next time when planting. Fill hole with water. Let it seep in. Loosen up root ball Put a bit of granular fertilizer around outside of ball. Cover with dirt. Water very well. Hope that helps.
@tinydancer7426
@tinydancer7426 4 года назад
Make the hole 2 to 3 times the size of the root ball, loosen the roots and don't set the plants with top of the root ball being buried ....... the stem at the root ball should never, ever be buried. And, if and when you ever think that you want to mulch around the base of the roses, never make the mulch more than 2 inches deep and never, ever pack it in all the way to and up against the stem.

Spencer, you are doing an amazing job making your dream home. The satisfaction you two will have when you finish will blow your mind. There's something so appealing to watch the evolution of your home being built. I live in the suburbs with back to back, side to side yards. While the idea of living in the middle of nowhere seems kinda depressing, the peace and tranquility you both must feel living this way must be amazing. You're very inspiring to watch, thank you for what you do.

I, personally, appreciate the transparency of this video. I've been watching for over a year and often wondered how you've done so much with no prior experience. Knowing that mistakes were made is a good thing for your watchers. Of course it sucks to make mistakes but admitting it really helps people to know that mistakes are okay and not to be afraid to take that leap. Kudos to you both. And best of luck to you both as well.
