In the end-every unit has had their own style of painting.The colours where delivered and from season to season and place to place, the camo was changed !

Looks great 👌 Bet painting those is really satisfying, bet it can be a right pain at times but the results are worth it.

The beauty of WW2 German camo schemes was that there were no hard and fast rules ref. the patterns. So go have fun - !

Primer over the old paint & oil? Did you contemplate sand or glass bead blasting to take off all the old paint?

I dislike the camouflage pattern, but it is likely close to period correct for a late war German machine. Do post more.

the only other time that l enjoyed watching paint dry was when the Tank Museum did the paint job on the Jagdpather , good job , and l hope you did not get any over spray on the red car in the back ground

Why did you prime all the light lenses?

Great attempt for a first go it's incredibly difficult to get that camo right but I have to say it looks a little off. Only needs a little more off the edge colours instead of all neatly inside the panels . Unless youre going for a desert colourscheme? But i assume not as the 251D i dont think made it to the desert only the B and possibly a C varient i might guess. Needs to bleed off the edges a bit if it's european . Also connect a few of the patches into longer patterns. But otherwise looks great. As this vehicle most resembles the 251D i would assume you were going for post 1943? I would have also gone a shade darker on that brown more toward a red brown terracotta type colour rather than as you ablely described baby shit brown lol The colours are still actually available you know from the original RLM German colours. Dunklegelb is a dark yellow [baby shit yellow lol] rötbraun or red brown and oluvgrün or olive green are all a shade darker but I've only painted models on a small scale so I can't really attest any experience of what they appear like in your full scale. I have to say you've done a better job than 99.% of museums out there even so. No-one seems to get the patterns right or colours. Then again as they rarely had enough paint in ww2 and often watered down colours for coverage who knows you could be absolutely spot on accurate. In fact ignore me lol

The correct order of painting would have been : - primer : RAL 3009 oxid red - base paint : RAL 7028 dark yellow (which varied a lot in tone). RAL 8000 yellow brown would have been used in Africa though this Czech OT-810 is based on a late Sdkfz 251 so an Africa paint scheme would be an anachronism. - camo : RAL 6003 olive green and RAL 8017 red brown. According to my information late in the war the yellow base paint was sometimes omitted and camo was painted on the primer. This is the theory, there must have been many exceptions.
