Painting Plenty of Fish 

A demo of drawing and painting some fishy characters in acrylic on wood panel. Here I show how, in any drawing I do, I start with many free light and loose searching lines, until the right ones emerge and they feel right.. then I emphasize them.. but then I let the painting do the next stage of the work, and then move back to the drawing in the final stages. While these are not finished paintings they have suggestions of the right kind of energy that feels satisfying to paint. I mostly don’t consider any acrylic painting I do to be highly finished.. To me that is the same as saying overcooked. I think of it as leaving in a bit of freshness and air so the painting can move.
