This guide was super helpful. Finally getting into my 2 boxes of Rose Knights. . I had to substitute the metallic primer with a tamiya light grey. I did all the messy dry brushing/washing/ and highlights of the metal first. Before finishing up with with all the cloth and cleaner bits. Thanks for the inspiration!
I’m glad you’re finding it helpful! One of the reasons I think ASoIaF is a great game to start your miniature painting hobby with is because of the rank and file system, you can always hide the guys you messed up on in the back!
Man I can only think how the GoT television show did House Tyrell dirty with their cheap and ridiculous looking armor in the later season. Now Ser Loras Tyrell's jousting armor in season one? That was a thing of beauty
I love it ❤ the color combo and details are awesome. What i want to ask is, when you highlighting do you mix the color with more water or use some medium to make the color more natural or bland it in a natural way? Thanks you so much. I’m buy my first army of Baratheons so i will use your tutorial to paint them 🎉
It depends! The yellow green color in particular goes on more like a glaze, but in general, unless I say otherwise, everything is usually just thinned with equal parts water.
Hello Mike Really nice tutorial. Starting to paint minis after buying the ASOIAF game, this video is a great inspiration even if on ly training will allow me to reach your level. When highlighting, your colours blends perfectly. Is it due to your mix water/paint ? What about using a wet palette? Is the advice the same? When you do not have nor find nun oil, what else can you use ?
@Shakall, you can use Dark Tone by the Army Painter as a Nuln Oil substitute, they’re pretty much the same: amzn.to/3ejzPRv In regards to the blending on the highlights, most of that comes with the mixing of the colors when you highlight, abs adding more of the lighter color to achieve that lighter highlight. Sometimes it takes practice, but that’s what’s so great about ASoIaF’s rank and flank system, you can hide any figures you messed up in the back row!
