I'm normally a motor guy not a body man but I can see the love you put in your work and how well you try to explain what your doing your way and why I'm hooked an the music goes great with you work keep it up
looks good, i wouldve put some hardner in the paint and i would wear safety glasses when running that grinder, gotten sht in my eyes doing that so i know
Dam. Homie Good job. I seen excellent results real fast. Comparing to other videos that take 30 min to show what you did in 3 min. That black gloss looks clean. Now the question is how long will it stay what way? Will it fade with time or the sun will eat it away. ?
Thank you Sir, just subscribed, needed to see how a professional gets it done. I'm about to put cooling lovuers in the hood of my mail jeep, thank you again
Just wanted to say hey and that i really enjoy your videos ..they are very informative and I learn a lot every time i wach.... just wondering how long you wait between coats and I would really like another detailed video on polishing your so good at it
Hey brother you say you like the rustolium and that's why I watch your videos cause they sell auto paint also. You might try an preasure regulator at the bottom of your gun both my guns cost me $28 at Lowe's to get pressure gauges for them 14 each and there all metal for ease with cleanup. Plus not sure your experience but my brother uses like 4 water traps before it hits the gun but he also paints his 63 impala with his setup so wants no impurities I know you here from me on your vids a lot and dont mean to annoy you just been researching painting a lot and found many ideas that have been tested and proved by the pros. So I like passing on info hope your ok with this plus I like that you use cheaper paint cause some paints cost allot
Yea I got you. I sprayed these rustoleum paintjobs with the cheapest materials because I don't really mind the end results. I can always fix the imperfections after. But once I'm ready to spray the Burgman with the tri-stage paint, I'll try to gather up all the helpful tips from my viewers, and put them to use. (Including some new equipment) I'm no pro! I do these DIY projects at home, but with the help of you guys telling me what works and what doesn't.. I get more confidence in my work and giving you what you ask for. That's what positive feedback is all about! Once again, thank you for the support! 🙏
Bro I really like the way you piece together your videos. I feel mine are lacking now lol! Anyway God bless brother. Love the projects. Your cleanliness and showing of the work is perfect brother. 🤙
Not bad. I would over reduce the paint around 25% and give the gun an extra 10 PSI of air pressure to atomize the paint better. Would get a ton of over spray but a finish that wouldn't need wet sanding
I agree with people here in regards to cutting out the rust and welding in new metal. Also, someone suggested mixing 2 parts paint, 1 part reducer, and 1/2 part hardener for a low orange peel job
Bro it came out looking good! just a little sand and buff and it would be sick 💯💯 i did this to my gmc sierra awhile back i painted the roof gloss black with spray cans.
Oh man I hadn't seen this video. I didn't have a phone for 3 days so I missed those 2 last videos. But Im sure the car will look great when your finished with it. Keep it up bro 😁
If your first coat has orange peel can you add another coat on top of that or would you have to wet sand the orange peel (first coat) before adding your second?
I just got my hood paint in satin black but theres some particles on the paint. How should I sand those areas to remove those particles and bring back the same black satine shine without over doing the rest of the hood. Thank you!
Fantastic idea and the method seems to work it saved thousands of dollars and having to cut the roof off is a thing of the past with this technique you have. Thank you total thumbs up! I know I’m fixing my truck now!!😊
Do yourself a favor next time and mix paint, reducer and hardener at an 8:1:1 ratio. Or better yet, at least use an inexpensive acrylic enamel automotive paint which has UV protection. Rustoleum will dull out within a short period of time.
The UV protection in "automotive" acrylic enamel is in the hardener. You can mix some of that hardener (or for that matter tractor or other implement enamel hardner) with the Rustoleum and get the same UV protection. Rustoleum out of the can is pretty thick, I'm not sure an 8:1:1 ratio would spray out of that gun (the HF purple gun can be made to put down a decent paint job, but it doesn't spray as much paint or as big a fan spray as a better gun and is more finicky WRT to paint viscosity), I think you'd get stuck with at least 8:2:1, maybe more reducer (acetone).
Guys are on here talking about wrong body fillers on the hood... How about cutting the rust out and welding in some patches if you cant come across another hood.. Even fiberglass reinforced filler cant hold back all that rot!
Instead of using just body filler on that hood, you should have used fiberglass. The bondo is water absorbent as to where the fiberglass isn't. That rust is gonna come back later om bro.
I just run the buffer on low speed. Usually between 2 and 3. I don't let it run too fast so It doesn't create too much friction and burn the paint. Make sure you have enough compound on your pad and work in small sections and work under the shade. You got this! 👍
I'm not adding clear to it since I'm already putting it back together, but it's actually better if you do for more protection to the paint and to make it last longer
Yes, I'm definitely doing that! I was just giving the paint about a week to fully cure before the cut and buff. I'm uploading an update later today. 😉👍
