Isn't that what paiste colorsounds and every other color coated cymbal is? IDK honestly but it does seem the surface treatment does dry them out a bit listen: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GdJ6Hx3fD9g.html & no coating ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ukIFZIevyCI.html Bad comparison i know due to things like difference in size, recording gear and acoustics and maybe construction methods, etc. But listen to how much less the 22" rings even though it is the bigger cymbal. Still no definitive conclusion since I'm just going off these videos since I couldn't find an uncoated 22' rude mega bell model demo
I am from the Era when we used to drink from the water hose and i am 41 yrs old, a little paint sniffing isn't going to hurt you unless you are under 35 yrs old you don't have that protective layer that the water hose water coated our innards with!
I'm a guitarist and I think I've seen every single video of yours, incredible channel, really enjoying binging on your videos and I swear I now know more about drumming than my drummer friends! Well done
My life is pathetic, but I've been waiting for this to happen (just learned about your videos a couple weeks ago). My Christmas is now complete. Thanks for all the great vids. Merry Christmas to all.
I watched your video about the Moon gel VS Window Decal things. Never thought Id find those window decals since I live in the UK. But, walking through some weird ass shop, boom, decals. Bought some and thanks to a purple star my snare sounds awesome! You're a Genius!
Dave, that drum set is really sharp looking. I’m also a drummer with 10 drum sets of various sizes, but my favorite set is on my computer it’s called real drum and it’s a free download. I also enjoy restoring old toys preferably toy trucks.
This was great. I wish I was had more carpentry skills. I'm wicked glad you kept the bass drum hoops the natural wood color! Instead of making them sea foam green. It's a really nice looking contrast.
the spraypattern on a paintgun is a flattened fan the to knobs that stick out the spraynozzle flatten the pattern so if you sprat up and don turn the nozzle or you spray thick in the middle and thin next to it and you get drips
You should make a high quality cymbals hard case. Custom depths to be the strongest possible, but smallest hardcase it can be. Hinge, clasp, whatever. I'd love to see something like that from you!
Man you don't have anything to worry about when it comes to spraying without a respirator on, I paint rims an cars, an every painter at any body shop will tell ya they don't wear one in the summer. (which don't get me wrong that's kinda stupid cause I do lol) You have inspired me cause I've been looking at cheap sets on craigslist. so now i plan to buy one an paint it!
David! make a hybrid snare drum out of those tom pieces! You've got the skills to do it. Also, you should buy cheap drum kits, deck them out than sell em. Good for your channel and make some extra scratch. I really like your videos. Always a blast to watch.
And this is why I wrap my drums. Fortunately I dont have the wood imperfections and my sanding is super light (mainly around hardware holes). AWESOME video though.. I love how you edit your content. Music and all... it's awesome.
you make my day!!i love your videos!!please make a video about your pedal!it's a custom pedal from different parts..isn't it?i want to make someday a custom pedal...
More painting, more sanding, more painting, some more sanding, some more painting, some more sanding, a bit more painting, yet more sanding. 30 years later... XD
Hey man love your videos! I was inspired by your videos to do some cool stuff so i created 6 foot sound proof walls in my garage drum settup, they look great i wish i could send you a picture of them!
Hey, I got a Ludwig accent classic floor Tom black, I think lacquer, I want to paint it orange enamel, should a light sanding be enough prep or do I need to remove the lacquer completely?
