I had an encouraging conversation with a close friend recently as we talked over breakfast. Amongst many topics, both random and real: we spoke about “limitations”. And how often, we think that because we don’t have all the resources we need, it leads us to the limitation of actually creating something completely new and beautiful. I took on the challenge of feeling limited as I painted this piece. I chose only “one” paint brush to paint with just so that I could intentionally understand what it is to feel less resourceful.
I didn’t know what the end result was going to look like or what I even wanted to paint. Stroking the brush without a plan in mind for the first time ever, and it was amusing. I chose a different colour in the moment and whatever painting technique came to mind, my hands followed.
I say this all, because we are called to innovate and think past old mindsets. To create something new every single day, even if we feel limited. God is showing me that even if I don’t feel like Im equipped with all the tools, that He will still use me in my lack to create something new and beautiful.
