long form videos are great, but maybe do a short form even if you run a second channel with just shorts like a woodworking channel I watch did.

Being a beginner. I really enjoy watching your videos. Just FYI if you do shorts. Your subscribers do NOT get notified when you do shorts. Something I found out a few months ago. Even if the notification bell is on. Hope that helps.

Yup that's Nazdreg Yellow. It's a great yellow-brown. Iyanden Yellow is the more standard yellow color and is also really good.

Sitting commission painting listening to you waffle away lol. They all look great and everyone has a different paint style. Your painting has come on leaps n bounds since the start for sure. I use a combo of all painting oils, artist acryls, pro acryl, ak interactive, vallejo, speed paints contrast. just depends mini and commission. Try ak interactive ultra matt. its a great varnish and ties all the model together.. You can add gloss or satin to metallics after if wanted.

Contrast paints separate out when sat, which is why they come out strange sometimes, get yourself a cheap vortex shaker to solve that, shake the hell out of them

The Nazdreg Yellow paint you were using is really yellow. It just has really dark brownish shadows and you used it in a fairly textured areas. But on flat surfaces like the rim of the base you can see it really is yellow.

Try using the back of the blade to scrape mold lines; less risk of gouging your plastic and slipping with the sharp part aimed out.

I liked slapchop at first but then decided I wanted more vibrant colors. I forced myself to learn the base, layer, highlight painting style and am much happier with the end results of my minis now. Definitely takes a bit longer though. I still use Speedpaint for leather and bone though. Those always look great.

Better to white Prime then contrast then wash certain parts with darker contrast/wash colors and then highlight with regular color.

Very cool video , I have seen someone use strong tone from the dropper bottle with a mix of speed paint medium to create a nice was similar to the earthshade but drys a little nicer , I love those beast snagga orks I really need to build and paint mine

I use my own slapchop+. My tabletop ready level consist of: 1. black -> grey -> white but I paint parts or areas that should have brighter shadows completely grey or even white if I only want the speedpaint shadow effect. 2. Sometimes go in an drybrush a highlight color if I want to push it a bit further. 3. Sometimes step in an take care of details or make minor improvements if I don't like the result. I have realized that step 3 is probably the most important part to improve as a painter. * Learn how to fix things that you don't like and you will start to gain freedom. * Don't be afraid to touch up things, one extra highlight or shade can make all the difference in the world.

You keep me painting!!!!! I do enjoy the Army Painter speed paints myself. They are priced better. However like you said the Citadel range does have the more bright colors. So I’ve got a bit of them. For metallics I stick to Vallejo

Have you considered to trying to paint some AoS miniatures? For instance the new Flesh Eater Courts? I think the slap chop method would do wonders on those and I would love to see your take on it :) As for the long vs. shorts videos: I tend to struggle deciding what paints to use on my models, so seeing your long videos helps a lot. I mostly use Contrast because it's in stock at my FLGS. The darker ones work nicely thinned with contrast medium.

I had the same problem with my Nazdreg Yellow. I watched a video where someone used it and it was a beautiful yellow. Went on as the best, smoothest yellow I've ever seen. I bought it, and when it arrived it was a ruddy brown and dried super choppy. It definitely put me off wanting to use contrast paints ever again. Not worth the inconsistent quality in my opinion.

Any tips for a slapshop noob ? My white drybrush reactivate ( even after drying overnight ) when i use speepaint 2.0 . Other problem, Speedpaint seems to crack when it dries...

Grim Pop is from @DonSuratos funny you mentioned it lols. His type of painting is what I have been learning from. He has also moved to @TheArmyPainter speed paints as base for his work. Looks fantastic. Hope you check him out.
