After 8 failed attempts, I have finally overcome the CR boss (which was globally blocking the video) to bring this reaction! As long as I don't have a rematch, episode 7 reaction will be on Friday! Onwards to Adventure -Nox

Funfact: In the manga there was a little extra page of laios trying out what would happen if he would draw a version of himself on one of the paintings (a stickman) Well turns out that from the outside nothing changes nut inside the stickman turns alive and truly thinks hes the real laios, just for having to watch the part and his other self leave in disapointment and then immediately forgetting who he is and how he got there

Fun fact- The average lifespan of Halflings in this world is about 50 years or so on average {I think they have the shortest average life expectancy of all the races}. By his Halfling standards, Chilchuck is around middle aged.

That really changes the perspective on that entire exchange. That's amazing! I think the relativity surrounding aging and experience in fantasy is such an interesting concept. I haven't watched it yet, but I understand that's a big subject matter in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Thanks for sharing that insight!

@@Noxiddar He's not so much a temperamental youth but more like a grumpy old man.

@@Noxiddar(By the way, just in case it isn't clear; Delicious in Dungeon uses sorta-kinda medieval standards, so the average lifespan of tall-men (humans) is about 60. It's less that half-foots live half as long as tall-men, and more that they age slightly faster.)
@AiLiang-hh2zg
@AiLiang-hh2zg 4 месяца назад
@@oggser8050 That's probably at least partially true and its' good you pointed out this is a preindustrial world. That's a factor as well individual health and fitness. However I think we shouldn't entirely dismiss the likelihood of a biological factor as these are different species as well. In IRL mammals for example, smaller species generally live shorter lives due to higher metabolic rates when compared to larger mammalian species.

@@AiLiang-hh2zgI mean, it's mentioned in the manga that some half-foots live to 100 years. I think it's misleading to say that "half-foots have an average lifespan of 50 years" without first clarifying that that isn't a hard stop, it's just an average.

3:44 I totally relate this to whenever I don't want to take a shower. When I do take one, it always feels great and comforting, but it's just taking that initial step that sometimes feels like a hurdle lol Edit: I also got to be the 69th like. Nice.

8:46 “Are you after for the throne”. Interesting choice of words AND that it sounds more like a statement than a question. The Elf could be referring to Laios, an intruder to their eyes, to be after the King on his coronation but ALSO; the elf is also referring to him unlocking the golden castle, challenging the Mad Mage to release it and gain the throne. The Mad Mage who would have to be damn powerful to not just sink the kingdom underground, but seemingly create these paintings that act as time capsules of presumably reminiscing the past. And the one who would be PISSED OFF to see an intruder rifling through these precious memories, the supposed “court jester” Laios called. And we know that Elves can live long lives and look almost the same for DECADES with their powers to reflect that 😅

15:07 I think food is seemingly quite important to even the history/culture of the castle. Those paintings represent that, the fact there’s food present ON THE DAY of the king’s birth, albeit simple fruits, to full-on-courses on the unfortunate death of the previous king and at the coronation of the new king are no coincidences. Back in the episode with traps Senshi mentioned there being an entire forest of olive trees they used to make certain devices like the hot oil trap. Plus those mollusks in the living armor, the kingdom most definitely have ports/utilized a sea-based economy to import oceanic goods including fish and the mollusks. And in the very first episode there are those man-eating plants that if you were super careful, you can harvest their fruits. It’s actually a running theme in the castle and the show, death is amongst the dishes served in the castle. And we know this kingdom was SUPER RICH that it had gold-covered walls so they could afford to import the WILDEST “nutritions” into their domain 😅

Yaay my favorite episode by one of my favorite reactioners! I'm so happy you won the battle against CR, I was excited to see what you'd think this time:] The way you immediately went "dinner!:)" when the spears shot up under the mimic was So funny I cackled really loud haha I am the same way about wanting to do something but not right at that moment, motivation is a strange thing for sure! I hope you're doing well, or at least marginally better now that you're uploading these, looking forward to your commentary on the coming episodes:D

I'm definitely doing much better. A little more sturdy as it were. This was such a fun episode. I think this is also about the least amount of commentary I had while watching (probably why I kept getting flagged, to be honest) because I was INVESTED. I definitely think I'll make sure to leave some leeway when I get ready to edit and upload the next video, so I can get this next one out on Friday like I planned! Enjoy the rest of the weekend! As I've grown older, I realize motivation is a great starter, but an awful sustainer. I think I just need to embrace the old man energy and sit down pickle-faced, puckered up, and peeved off just getting it done. Haha. I'll try that next time!

Cannot wait to see your next video! I love this series' so much, not only the artstyle is so out-standing sweet, but also the story telling, the way ervery piece of information has been foreshadowed for the future events, the way the violent is slowly accelarating, the seriousness grows but well seasoned by the humour of the team. The world building is one of its kinds, not deniable! The show has a lot of craziness waiting for you a head!
