Finally I get to see them up close. This pair shakes my windows about once a week (back in the day). AND I LOVED EVER DB OF IT!. Generally by the time I'd hear the roar they were pretty much gone'ski. About killed myself running to the back door. On one occasion, wind direction or ? one swung around over my house ultra low. Of course I ran out (sounded like a train coming through), but as it passed and I got the full force of the engined.... OMG, I ran back IN! Good times ;)
1980, I was end of runway check at the Fresno ANG where we had 4 F106's line up for take off. The afterburners torched out and the airplanes slowly accelerated. The runway has a dip where the airplanes disappear momentarily. 4 went into the dip but only 3 made it into the air. When they came back, I, as a newbee ran out to pick up the chutes. I grabbed my first one by the metal eye and dropped it because it was hot from the exhaust. The other guys in the truck were chuckling when I finally threw the chute in the truck. One asked "Hot?"

@kenpalmer1965 One of the LB f/b pages tells the weekends when they are in town (generally 3rd, but not always), and where the people are standing you can kind of get in by going Cherry to Wardlow and turning E into the airport area. Also Cherry and 36th. Also, if you're lucky, on Cover between Paramount and Cherry you can be under the take off. You can also go to the business park near the corner of Spring and Clark, into the back where parking for AAA and other businesses are located to see where they start their take off and where they land (and all other planes as well). Unfortunately I don't know where to get the info that they'll be taking off at a specific time. Someone else might.

this two jets had been bagging me all day, they're SO LOUD! i'm on a night shift job and i'll skip my work tonite because of this awful disturbance... I mean we had a wide desert to fill all this noise pollution :(
