Good luck this breeding season, hopefully you will breed many beautiful youngsters. To stimulate the crossbills to reproduce, you could feed them pine cones, I also know breeders who give them extra hemp seed to get them going. That one canary you mated to a goldfinch looks like a verigated cinnamon canary . Again, good luck breeding with your birds and I look forward to the results!
Hi Ollie , I have been following your brilliant videos for awhile now . I am not breeding birds but like to keep one or two mules for their brilliant singing. In your videos you rotate the food you feed your birds , eg seed , soaked seeds dandelion leaves broccoli fruit and the like, as a treat I have offered my mules egg food but they won’t touch it 😭 any ideas why they won’t touch it .??? And is it ok to leave the same egg food in the cages for more than one day ??? Does it go off fast ??? I look forward to hearing from you FLANOJOHN.
A great video, Oliver! Do you know of any good resource to learn more about the mutations/color genetics of British birds? Such as books, articles, websites?
Great stuff again always look forward to watching really inspired me to get into bird keeping and breeding once again after 4 years 👍 keep up the good work, best of luck
