Then there is the hindu shahi dynasty(Raja jayapala and Raja Anandpala) which ruled the region from 850 until 1026 AD and zunbil dynasty from 680 to 870 AD.

Taxila has a rich history of four distinct faiths of the world. Zoroastrianism, Hellenism, Hinduism and Buddhism But what I fail to understand is why do almost all Indians blame the destruction of Taxila upon Muslims when Islam didn't even existed when Taxila was destroyed. Perhaps so much hatred is taught in their curriculum about Muslims and Islam. So they blindly believe that every thing bad happened to their faith must be the doing Muslims and Islam.

arun sharma i am from Taxila and i know what are you saying and also know more that you don't know about it. First of all the university name at that time was Takshashila University which was ranked 1 at that time. And the university was situated in the city called "Sirikap City".After centuries ago in the british rule, when they were discovering remains of this place for museum they found a stone on which Taxila was written. So the british named it Taxila.
