Day 2 we depart the beautiful Serena Hotel in Swat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of northwest Pakistan and head west then north for a beautiful drive past Chakdarra, Dir, then drive over Lowari Top and through the Lowari tunnel before descending into Ayun, in the Chitral District where we stay one night at the stunning Ayun Fort Hotel arriving during the days final Islamic call to prayer. Along the way we saw a goat traffic jam, a street argument, a massively overloaded truck, & tasted chai tea, corn on the cob cooked in salt and pepper. At the hotel we had views of Tirich Mir, the highest peak in the Hindu Kush (25,289 ft) and have our first of many bucket showers.
