I would like to add few points. 1. The service life of an fighter aircraft depends mainly on a. Aging of airframe b. Engine condition. Engine can be easily changed, but airframe service life is more or less 10K hours. So, if it crossed 10k hours then no airforce will upgrade.

Mirage has unique aerodynamic shape but you can modify it by precise calculation so it cone easily customize in geometrical shape without the damage of air friction and you can install ESSA radar if you can do otherwise we have much excuses. Mirage has powerful engine thats make it different with other aircraft. In maximum thrust you can gain two mac speed which make it still faster aircraft. Body shape provide it to carry heavy load that why it consider as a boambar aircraft. It extra ordinary Wings make it low altitude flight. It is a trophy and piece of marvel. Slightly modification it will be equal with Rafael. PAC can do easily.
For perspective please note that US B52 bombers were inducted into the USAF in 1955. They have been extensively upgraded accordingly over the years, and continue to faithfully serve USAF in it's specialized role as the intercontinental conventional and nuclear delivery heavy bombers. Remember US defense budget has no constraints, money is never an issue, and USAF gets virtually anything it desires. If they have kept these birds around for all of these decades, that's because they are still useful to USAF in their nich role, all the while still inducting new stealth fighters and bombers. So mirages can be upgraded with newer and better avionics, defensive equipments and latest standoff weapons indefinitely in their specialized role as the ground strike, and interceptors.
PAF has invested a lot in this machine. So there's a chance... maybe some of the Mirages maybe integrated with some new weapon (complete modification is not possible). Moreover, J10C are replacing it.
Finally it's time to replace Mirage 3/5 ROSE I, II and III. It's immediate successor Mirage F1 is now operational in only 1 or 2 countries (Iran with ex Iraqi aircrafts and maybe Morocco) all the rest of the F1 operators have retired it at least 20 years ago. Countries are nowadays even in process of replacing their Mirage 2000'-5's, as French Dassualt Aviation has stopped it's production line a decade ago and already being replaced from the French Armie de le Air and Marine National. Mirage is a very good air craft , still it can be used for ground attack in Afghanistan and Iran, this air craft can easily protect our western border and ground forces .

Unless the Mirages are replaced 1:1 by a new aircraft, I doubt PAF will retire these SIXTY year old airframes. Why? Recent wars have tended to be prolonged. The size of the Airforce is important to sustain war effort. So reducing number of planes and pilots is not advisable. PAF did a great job keeping squadron strenght high during 90s and the naughties. It is even more important now with a new globak war at our doorsteps. Mirages can play a 3rd tier role to deliver bombs on ground forces after Air Superiority is achieved. Alternately Mirages can be used to attack ground targets in high risk missions preservong higher tech assests like J10, Thunders, F16s. So unless every Mirage can be replaced by a JF17, Mirages serve useful purpose. If an upgrade helps reduce operational cost etc, then yes an upgraded Mirage makes sense. Whatever course PAF decides it will take into consideration the cost benefit analysis. Mirage no longer bring capabilities to PAF that it can't use J10 or JF17 or F16s. So it is only useful because of ground attack role, existong fleet and infrastructure, and the large number of pilots it supports.

It's time to bid farewell to the finest jet that protected Pakistan's aerial frontiers for decades. Now it's airframe is too old and frail. Any more upgrades can never make it a formidable jet given the fast-changing aerial warfare technology.

Pakistan has sealed a deal of 5th generation J 31 stealth fighter jets with China. PAF will acquire a total of 100 units out of which 40 are about to reach. One unit costs US$ 85mln. Mirage Air crafts were inducted into Pakistan Air Force in 1967. Pakistan have large number of Mirages, all Air crafts purchased latest were used cannibalism purpose.

Uske spare parts India me hi bnte h aur source code bhi tha hmre paas so AESA radar integrate kr paaye.. Wo bhi 60 jaguar me jo 2000 me order kiye the. Baaki 60 me airframe life nhi bachi thi.
