This is a great memory in life. I was only 8 years old when Pakistan won the World Cup, I took off from the school, screamed on every single ball with family and we were so excited, lives were so different back then
Yup life was simple n much better...It was a wednesday. just to watch cricket i faked a stomach ache didnt go to school in delhi n ended up watching the match...it was quite boring the initial 35 overs...thereafter was a blitz....
Inzamam was sheer class. From this time upto the day he retired. Javed arguably the greatest batsman the country ever produced in Tests as well as ODIs.
Inzamam was way ahead of his time. Guy was playing T20 cricket years before it officially started as a format. Such superb stroke play at such a young age! Plus in those days scoring 100+ in last 10 overs wasn't normal. Terrific chase!
I watched this match seating with my father (late) brought tears in my eyes. My father was a big fan of imran khan and he predicted this world cup in favour of pakistan. Long live pakistan.
Definitely Inzamam's match - 60 off 37 was remarkable in those days. But shouldn't forget Moin's 20 at the end too - he came in the 47th over and they still needed 25 runs I think. Scored his runs in 10-11 balls I think.
India's 1983 wc win and Pakistan's 1992 wc win were almost same, both were underdogs, both were led by two great leaders and all-rounders. Respect and love from India
Actually Pakistan was more skilled than india tbh and this is coming from an Indian Pakistan in the 90’s was lethal . They were as good as Australia . They reached two World Cup finals won some real break ODI series and tests .
@@anshbhatia3459 captain of that team is the key to the whole series..... Imran khan had a good team of good all rounders and managed them throughout the series by playing in each and every match......
I was in class 10 school and matches and ramazan how sweet memories comes in mind remember every bit of it the match starts sehari time we were almost out of worldcup and suddenly charged and came forward seeing these highlights still gives me goosebumps may Allah give Pakistan success in every way Ameen
263 those days was very much chaseable. Not impossible. Just 5.26 per over. Incidentally, this was the first time 300 runs were breached by any team for the first time in ODIs and it was successfully chased down by SL. I think it was SL v Zim.
ferzy09 it was definitely an above par target in that tournament but Inzi & Moin stepped up scoring 80 runs in just 8 overs with javed fighting n guiding young inzi. Incidentally, Imran’s innings of 44 from 93 deliveries almost lost that match for Pak. Credit to Pak for that victory, I’m taking away nothing from Pak.
12 over left and needed 106 runs required..🤔 In today's era also it really difficult to achieve.. it's been possible because a legend has to be discovered to the world (inzi ❤️❤️❤️) love from india
@@wanigulzar191that great leader played one of the worst innings ever scoring 44 of 93 balls, it was his luck that pakistan won this match or else he would have been criticized for life.
@@junaidahmed2827 Imran played a captains knock. He scored slowly to keep wickets in hands and take the game deep cause he knew they had power hitters like inzamam
when Pakistani team was leaving for aus world cup ...critics said this team could not win a domestic tournament . ..but imran said ...we will win the world cup .....
they were quite a good team and a lot of match winners, won quite a few tournaments at the time including neheru cup in india which was actually another world cup. they were just under performing at the start of that world cup thats all.
Pak were on the verge of elimination. They were lucky after rain interuppted in that Eng match where Pak was bowled out for 74. Both teams got 1 point each. Pak eventually landed at 9 points and just scraped through to SF. Critics were almost right. England in their reply were 24/1 in 8 overs. Looks like, England were planning to lose the match strategically so that Australia would get eliminated. Aus were at 8 points and was having a better NRR than pak.
1992 world cup is a big nostalgia of my genration. I m 45 now. Evry match has a memory for so many of us. Pak W.I match , my grand mother died same day. This semi final i watched with my uncle, he passed away last year. Final I watched at my sister home . On return to home i had an accident on road. 90s was the best decade. So much was to come in coming years. Pleasures sadness. Many love ones gone forever. I
Kane Williamson was in super over for SRH but dhoond raha thaa spinners ko, foreigners are always weak against spin, that's why I DON'T THINK PONTING WAS GREAT AS HE WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AGAINST INDIA IN INDIA, WARNE NEVER BOWELD GREAT AGAINST INDIA
Wonderful World Cup.. The first in Australia/NZ... Us Aussies underperformed, New Zealand did very well making the Semi's and being very competitive here. But Pakistan arguably the surprise victors played extremely well and thoroughly deserved to win their 1st World Cup! Great tournament!
Yeah..... They were like they want to win that world cup by coming overthere..... And that too at that time Imran khan had a good team to surpass each and every match with clean effort and light margins.....
1992 world cup was the best world cup the year in which modern cricket started to evolve... Colourful jerseys white ball cricket day night matches and Imran leading the green troops to perhaps the most difficult World Cup triumphs.... Pakistan adds a flavour to International cricket to make a tournament success you need to have Asian giants like Pakistan and India to have a successful campaign and that was the only reason Champions trophy was a success. However we lost to Pakistan but it was good to see that cornered tiger🐅 spirit from the Pakistanis.
Never seen such innings that inzi bhai played this semi final..that day a legend born.. Scoring more than 8.5 runs per over that time.. Not a joke.. Imran khan spotted a jewel.. The Inzamum ul haq.. Great fan.. 😊😊 lv u inzi bhai from india..
Inzamam emerged as a great player and shall always be remembered for his audacious hitting in the match! never turned back after this match. Ended up beating Miandad as the highest test scorer of all time for Pakistan.
1992 pak vs newzealand semifinals pak won and qualified for final vs england and won 2022 pak vs newzealand semifinals pak won and qualified for finals vs England is history repeating it self inshallah pakistan will won the t20 wc 2022 ameen
Look.at the players, look at the respectful crowd. Even their team.lost, they still applauded for the winning team. That was the beauty of the cricket in old days. We don't have it anymore.because too much money involves now in cricket. It's all commercialised.
Pak chased an unbelievable total for that Era against NZL in a knockout and now 31 years later they did the same chased 400 runs in a knockout to keep there WC hope alive wow
This was the 1st coloured world cup..i never forget this. I was just 8 years old ..we wake up 3 am for watching every match....the month was Holy Ramadan....i never forget beautiful grounds, crowed, uniforms and especially the sound of the wicket because there was a mic inserted in wickets
That’s all about team effort...Javed played a sensible innings...Inzi played a master stroke..Imran made a good contribution as well... team was full of confidence that they can overcome the battle with an influential captaincy...
Kiya waqt tha wo I was 9 years old miss this period no smart phone only ptv 😢 but we are really happy this time no any salary pakagae our family no costly any thing
I was in 9th class.I saw whole match which brought inside pleasures of whole nation .Javed Miandad ,Akram ,Inzi all played very well and captancy of Imran repleted the colors in this match ...bht achy days thy wo skoon ,pyar n khaloos tha
So many beautiful memories... Thank you Sir Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Waseem Akram, Inzamam ul Haq, and Ramiz Raja & Aqib Javed were also remarkable. I was in college that time.. and I remember i used to watch these matches after sehri time.
now I have tears in my eyes when I watch my hero Miandad. This is called sincerity with the country. GRT => Javed, Imran, Moin and Inzamam, and all the others playing for PAKISTAN.
I still get goose bumps... Back then 262 was like chasing 362.. Those types of Totals were Very Rarely Chased successfully Thinner Bats, No 20/20 mond set Still remember thinking, How Can We Win this match.. Yet we did. GGOOSE BUMP CITY!
Leave the worry about India'.ask ur mother about Ur father surely he was Ur next door neighbour So first of all think and find out about Ur real father.
I love Pakistan cricket star was born on that day Inzi bhai rocks.... We have started comparing Virat to Imran Khan but he is no where near to a leader like Imran. Respect from an Indian.
Virat is superb batsman .. but I doubt his leadership can be compared to Imran khan .. Imran is a legend .. I don’t see any player after him who would ball the 1st over and then open batting as well ...
