Ladies and gentlemen THE prime minister of PAKISTAN won the world cup for us and now he will win the hearts of the whole nation. I'm proud of my Kaptaan. Day to remember 18/08/2018.##longlivepakistan
Must say, so many legends in the same match 1) Border 2) Steve W 3) Mc Dermot 4) Dean Jones 5) Imran 6) Javed 7) Wasim 8) Inzi And many more great criketers. But back then any team playing with Australia was playing against 12man, 11 cricketer and 1 umpire. My Goss, thanks we have DRS now
Great Imran such a positive spirit, my legend first pakistani cricketer to be loved by Indians in an era when there was no love between the two countries , thats amazing achievment on its own!
I an an Indian but I have always been a great fan of Imran Khan for his captaincy, bowling, gentleman personality & sportsmanship & Wasim Akram for his Swing.
Yes. The squad members still keep telling how Imran Khan had given them a speech before the match and told them "mainy hisab laga lia hai, hum worldcup jeeten gay". If I was there I would have laughed at Imran. Aamir Sohail, Miandad were instrumental. Not to forget Aqib and Mushtaq.
I love Imran and Wasim Sir... I am very nostalgic and emotional to see the then Indian and Pakistan teams. All where such gentlemen. My huge respect to Wasim Akram Sir. With Love from India.
Just viewed these highlights of this great match and saw Imran khan leading the team; with Wasim Akram. Khan is now Prime Minister of Pakistan. Good luck.
Wise Captaincy Excellent Batting by Amir and Miandad Fabulous Bowling by Aqib, Mushtaq and IK Eventually an excellent example of Team Effort Well Done Team Pakistan.
I was at this game, great day out! There was this big Pakistani guy near the front row with a huge beer gut, a beer in each hand and no shirt on, giving all of us Aussies so much shit that day! He was dancing around on the seats celebrating for the entire match! He was on the square boundary at the western side of the ground. Everybody kept buying him beers he was so entertaining.
Cricketers of that time were very compassionate, calm and real, like when Pak bowlers specially Imran Khan take wicket their reaction is so natural and simple, as compared to the cricketers of nowadays.
What a match...good captaincy imran khan...these days when pakistan team were the best team of the world... I love imran khan ... We love our new pm of imran khan...
Imran was an all-time great in two disciplines (bowling and captaincy), and Test standard in a third (batting). No other cricketer in entire history can match this. Look at it this way - in bowling he averages as McGrath or Marshall (22.8), in batting his average is identical to that of Lamb and Atherton (37.8). His bowling stats are the most balanced for all bowlers in history who have taken over 300 Test wickets - against all countries, home or away, he averaged sub-30. Achieved the highest ICC Test Rating ever since pitches started to get covered post WWII - 922 in 1983. History's greatest ever bowler-skipper: 187 Test wickets @ 20.2. That's not the end of it - as a skipper, he averaged 52 with the bat! Imran Khan is easily history's greatest-ever all-rounder, as Sobers, although regarded and an all-time grant batsman, was not Test standard as a bowler (averaged 34, S/R of 93 balls per wicket). Whereas Imran Khan, regarded unquestionably as an all-time great bowler, was also Test standard as a batsman (averaged as much as Atherton and Lamb). Sobers was a mediocre skipper, and Imran is one of the, if not, the finest-ever captain. Moreover, the value of a bowling all-rounder is worth much more than that of a batting all-rounder. Imran Khan's captaincy skills were magnificent, he was the pioneer in multiple dimensions - be it for the introduction of neutral umpires, using strike bowlers in short spells, focusing on wicket-taking instead of run-restriction in ODIs etc. Wisden's ex Editor Tim De Lisle reckoned if an all-time Test XI would be assembled, Imran Khan would be the natural choice as skipper. Serial Man-of-the-Series Awards winner ever since that feature got introduced in the early 1980s. Trailblazing fast bowler, who inspired generation of genuine fast bowlers from Pakistan. so selfless, he refused to play weak opposition in the final few years of his career, citing lack of motivation as the reason. Once declared team innings when himself batting in the 90s! Regarding his quest for success and taking up challenges, Imran Khan's famous words were, "I am not afraid ever of losing. I just hate losing." He was the team's de facto coach and spokesman too. Imran Khan, thus, is truly unmatchable in cricket history.
Who would have thouht before this match that team standing second last in the points tally after 5 group matches with just single win, will end no.1 at the end of the WC1992😊😢
I have sweet momory of this match. I was in Texas and a roommate had brought video of the match. Watching match on television ia a cassette player was fun. Now I watch lying down on my bed at wee hours in the cold room is also thrilling and I am sure Imran Khan might have fourseen the captaincy of Pakistan after the match. He had vision GOOD.
@@aaleenali5829 great I watch glimpses of it once in bluemoon. I was a kid when this March was going on …. Still feel like a kid when I watch ball to ball altho cricket isn’t the game I like 😂
imran khan an example for the cricket skippers hw cool he was s skipper lovely temperment marvellous team leader s cricket is a gentleman game he has shown the world
Im not a supporter of khan in politics but i love his captaincy..i hope he learns proper politics nd come back stronger nd actually serves this country without support of establishment
Honestly he came in power without support of establishment. All surveys supported him before the 2018 elections. The establishment infact tried to stop him by establishing MMA in KPK against his party and TLP in Punjab. He was gonna get a simple majority but the night of elections the RTS system went down and even the seats where his party was leading till night were given to his opponents.
The match when Pakistan turned around in the tournament. It was the month of Ramadan. People from Bangladesh prayed like anything for Pakistan. It was Iftar time, and we got a feeling Pakistan was winning the match. Golden days of Cricket. Shall never come back again.
Yes that is why these days double centuries are scored by single batsman while the whole team would struggle to touch 250....now highly favored to batsman
11 bandoon ki fully trained and fit team ko 10 ya 12 ghantay kay liey lead karna kuch aur baat hei Aur 20 crore kee jahalaat aur corruption saay bhari hoee qoum ko Permanently handle karna aur baat hei.
Geoff Marsh 39 off 91 balls!!!! If you look at his strike rates probably comparable only to Ravi Shastri's at the top of the order. Marsh was dropped after this game and that was the end of his playing career for Australia.
I'm ran Khan Teaches everyone never loose hope keep fighting till last ball with Positive Attitude and without ne fear factor and with strong belief in self strength and Almighty
Imran Khan's best contribution is the number of great players that he found to play for Pakistan. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Aqib Javed, Saqlain Mushtaq, Inzamamul Haq... the list is illustrious and long.
What a wonderful commentators Richie Benaud was! He make too many people famous by his commentry and always was neutral and appreciatve to good performance. We miss you.
Geoff Marsh 38 from 91 balls!!!!!!! His last ever match for Australia in any format. The result of this match effectively put Australia out of contention for the semis, and kept Pakistan's hopes alive.
After having watched cricket of Pakistan and Australia I have read the comments of cricket lovers and pleased to know that Imran Khan is enjoying tremendous following not only in sports but also in political arena.
