PAKKALA NILABADI:-This Thyagaraja krithi in Kharahara priya ragam is most liked by Karnataka Sangeetha lovers. Swetha has presented this song in a different way accompanied by western musical instruments . Very nice to hear. I extend my heartfelt felicitations and best wishes....SUPERB
Amazing.I watched it more than 500 times and now I am trying to sing in the same manner.Alas ! Who the devil I am to imitate her.Ineffable, incredible, immaculate, incorigible, no words to appreciate.Swetha, pranamam 👏👏👏👏
I watched this hundreds of times..Whom to give the credit ? Everyone played excellent music or ultimate voice of Swetha or the creater of this (Sri Tyagaraja) ? Yes .. I got the answer .. We are all indebited to this great country for its culture and arts. Entire credit to my mother India.. Vandemataram.
I just love this song. I might have watched it 100 times and continue watching every morning. Can I request new video from same team I.e. ‘Bantureeti coluvu’
Agreed its fusion but that's how everything evolves including Music. The intent is clean. Moreover it helps kids of this generation to appreciate the composition of a Legend Shri Thyagaraja. Keep it up Shwetha. God Bless you !!!
Goosebumps hearing this. Sweta really got in to the essence of the song with impeccable pronunciation and maintaining the mood of the song. Greatly accompanied too
In this genre (fusion) Shweta (means White) rendered a difficult krthi & achieved perfection. She manged Telugu diction flawless, unlike most others. Her voice is divine. God bless her with long life to enthrall listeners like me.
the way swetha holds her hands and singing is unbelievable, mind blowing, watched may be 10000 times and it has become my family song. hats off to the entire team.
Hai Swetha....what a nice music concert..You sang this krithi composed in kharahara priya ragam in a different way in your beautiful voice .it's fun to hear this song again and again .Keep on singing....Congrats to Swetha and the entrepreneurs as well.....
After MS Amma's PAKKALA NILABADI, the rendition by SHWETA MOHAN Ji is simply Divine. In K. Vishwanath Garu's movie SHANKARABHARANAM, Shankara Shastry says the famous dialogue - "Music is Divine whether Western or Indian". PAKKALA NILABADI although has been rendered with Western Rhythm and beats but it does not take away the beauty and divinity of the Thyagaraja Kirthana. This is the Greatness of Bharatiya Classical Music.

Swetha sings so beautiful. lovely voice. touches the heart. It is very easy to criticise artists. Rather criticism has become an art now-a-days. Can we not the beauty of the song and the effort of the group to bring it to the audience ? It is very emotional and touching Raag, I became of fan of carnatic music after hearing K.J. Jesudas singing this compositon. very beautiful indeed ! I cannot accept criticism of youngster performing traditonal music. Well done guys. please share more !!
Such is her mellifluous voice that it takes anyone into the portal of heaven.May God bless you with the same spirit and dedication in the years to come.
Pl listen to 50s improvisation of classical music through Indian instruments. pilachina biguvatara by P. Bhanumathi in the film Malliswari, music by legendary musician Saaluri Rajeshwara Rao Garu, who composed music for the magnum opus "CHANDRALEKHA ".
awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee swetha.u have handled a legend s krithi soooooo beautifullyy.really u have a great voice and the clarity in those sangathis are amazing
Really appreciate the pronunciation! Thank you so much! Small suggestions: Tanuvu che vandanamu Onarinchu chunnara Should not be sung as Tanuvu che vandana Monarinchu chunnara. Vandana & monarinchu are not full words. Vandanamu & Onarinchu are the words.
I'm from Hyderabad. I don't understand the languages that this awesome lady sings in . WOW JUST AMZING AND FLAWLESS. Addicted for all the tracks of swetha n Bennett band in together. Indian Musical Heritage will not die if it graciously accepts it needs to remain musically appealing and sustain the livelihood of great artists as they need to find patrons to keep their aspirations alive. Carnatic music will not suffer if we introduce better sound without disturbing the purity of classical elements. Shweta is an incredibly sweet singer with classical repertoire and a trained voice that never ceases to amaze. Purists are hard to please and will find ways to prove that they know more about classical nuances. Improvisation is the way forward to engage the creative expressions that induce sonic pleasure while retaining the devotion and the fervour of a pure tapasvin margi gayak. Shweta you are a great human, a true inspiration and the band is immensely talented and it reflects delightfully. keep sharing more of such improvisations.
There is no wrong in improvisation or adding western instruments. Point is certain instruments work very well with Carnatic and certain don't. Instruments like Violin and even guitar can work perfectly but rock drums and keyboard not as much due to straight tones and lack of gamakas. It's a different vibe totally. It's important to know what matches and what doesn't.
