ഭദ്ര പാടിയ പാട്ട് കേട്ട് വളരെ സന്തോഷം. എന്റെ ചെറുപ്പകാലത്തെ ഹിറ്റ് പാട്ട്.

ഈ ഗാനം ഞാനൊരു ആയിരം പ്രാവശ്യം കേള്‍ക്കും.. എത്ര സുന്ദരം ആലാപനം.. സ്റ്റീഫന്‍ ദേസ്യയും സംഘവും പാട്ടിനൊപ്പം കേള്‍വിക്കാരെയും കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്നു... ആശംസകള്‍ ..

ഹലോ ഭദ്ര... കൊള്ളാം നന്നായി പാടി. സാഹിത്യം മനസ്സിലാക്കി പാടുന്നതിൽ ഒരു ചെറിയ പിശക് പറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. "വരിനെല്ലിൻ ചുണ്ടിലെ കിരുകിരെ കിന്നാരം പകരുവാനോടി വാ.. കാറ്റേ.. വാ.." എന്നാണ് ശരിയായ സാഹിത്യം. അതായത് വിളഞ്ഞു നിൽക്കുന്ന നെൽപാട നടവരമ്പിലൂടെ നടന്നാൽ നമ്മുടെ കാലുകളിലും ദേഹത്തും കാറ്റിലാടുന്ന നെൽ കതിരുകൾ ഉരുമ്മും. പൂത്ത് നിൽക്കുന്ന നെല്ലിനെ ആ സമയം തൊട്ടു നോക്കിയാൽ ഒരു കിരുകിരുപ്പ് അനുഭപ്പെടും. അങ്ങിനെ വരമ്പിലൂടെ നടക്കുമ്പോൾ ദേഹത്ത് വന്നുരുമ്മി നെൽകതിരുകളുടെ കിരുകിരുപ്പിന്റെ ആ പുന്നാരിക്കലനുഭവിപ്പിക്കാൻ കാറ്റേ നീ ഇതുവഴി വന്ന് ഒന്ന് വീശൂ എന്നാണ് കവി എഴുതിയ സാഹിത്യാർത്ഥം. മൃദുല പാടുന്നത് 'വരിനെല്ലിൻ ചുണ്ടിന് കിലുകിലെ പുന്നാരം പകരുവാനോടി വാ.. കാറ്റേ വാ' എന്നാണ്. ഇങ്ങനെ പാടുമ്പോൾ അർത്ഥം ആകെ മാറും. ചരണത്തിൽ "നല്ലോര് നാളില് മാളോരാമണ്ണില് തുള്ളിക്കളി കാണാൻ കാറ്റേ വാ " എന്നാണ് പാടുന്നത്. ശരിക്കുമത് "നല്ലോരാ നാളിലേ.. മാളോരാ മണ്ണിലേ തുള്ളിക്കളി കാണാൻ കാറ്റേ വാ... " എന്നാണ്. മനുഷ്യരെല്ലാരും സന്തോഷത്തോടെ തുള്ളിക്കളിക്കുന്ന ഒരു നല്ല നാളെ വരും അത് കാണാനും കാറ്റേ നീ വരണം എന്നാണ് കവി അർത്ഥമാക്കുന്നത്. പറഞ്ഞത് ശരിയോ എന്ന് പരിശോധിച്ച് ശരിയെങ്കിൽ ഇനി പാടുമ്പോൾ തിരുത്തുമല്ലോ?. ആശംസകൾ..

ഈ പാട്ട് എണ്ണമറ്റ തവണ ഞാൻ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. കുമാരി ഭദ്ര അതി മനോഹരമായി പാടി. ഒരു അവാർഡ് കൊടുക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞ ങ്കിൽ എന്നു ഓർത്തു പോകാറുണ്ട്. ആ കൈമുട്ട് ശ്രദ്ധേയമായി. ഓർക്കസ്ട്ര വളരെ മികച്ചത്. അല്പം ആ o ഗ്യങ്ങൾ എപ്പോഴും നല്ലതാണ്. ഒന്നും പറയാനില്ല. അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങൾ.

ആ ഗാനത്തിന് ഒരു പ്രത്യേകമാനം കൈവന്നു. എന്തൊരു മനോഹരമായ ഫ്യൂഷൻ. ഓരോ ആർട്ടിസ്റ്റും തകർത്തു. ആ കൈമുട്ടുന്നതുപോലും ഹൃദ്യമായിരുന്നു. Hats off to every body in this concert

Beautifully sung with perfect orchestration. The essence of this native song is not lost. Well done Stephen. Bhadra has done a superb job and Dennis Jose on the recorder has given an essence to the song with his playing. Reminded me of Kem Trivedi of the Silk Route band. Only thing I did not like was when Martin on the sax (or is it a clarinet) in his solo in the middle of the song sounded a lot off key. Overall a good rendition.
