Thanks for sharing this absolutely wonderful video. I've been to Al Hambra in 1996, n I was totally amazed by d incredible architecture. I fell in love with Andalusia n Spain that I make a vow to myself to seek for an opportunity to work n live in Europe. I've only seen to Madrid, Seville, Torremolinos, Granada, Sierra Nevada, Jerez n Cadiz, but that was enough to see to know that there r incredible heritage n legacy in d European continent.
Little did we know that the real reason for, "Only God is victorious" being carved into the wall 9,000 times is because the middle school teacher overheard one of the kings sons say to his buddy, "God isn't the only victorious one, I got laid last night!!" Apparently the palace walls were the ancient times equivalent of today's era chalk boards. Teacher: "What did you say Justin?!" Me: "Ahhhhh flippin' heck, I'm sorry Mrs. Robinson!" Pedants corner: The Alhambra's garden of the Generalife is NOT named as the garden of heaven. That is just a coincidence. In reality its' name was originally Janat Al Arife - Arabic for The Architect's Garden. How do I know this? I lived right opposite (my house can be seen through the portico view) and I was a regular visitor.

The Alhambra Palace uses clever shading, thick walls and water features to provide cooling throughout the building. I visited on a red hot day, mid summer and it was very cool inside. This was built nearly 800 years ago. Just shows that we don’t really need air conditioning, wasting loads of energy.
@@fitgirllegbusta2406 I believe that the comment was more about the possibilities of smart design, in harmony with Nature, e.g., taking advantage of natural lighting and ventilation, regardless of size, cost, or wealth. These are principles that can be applied to the simplest of buildings and homes, and not just fabulous palaces.
