Couple points 1. Intellect is better than strength in most cases. More int = more mana to work with, so more heals, more judgements and so on. Remember paladin without mana is just a bad version of a warrior. So try to find mail/plate items of the eagle. With trading availible you should be able to pick them up from AH pretty cheap. As a bonus you can heal any dungeon without collecting a separate set of gear. 2. Early talents in Retribution tree don't add much to your damage so i would reccomend going down Holy tree to get Consecration. It is your only AoE and allows you to tank early dungeons very effectively. Be sure to pick up Spiritual Focus - reducing healing pushback by 70% (100% with Concetration Aura) is huge 3. At lvl 41 you can respec to 11/21 protection picking up Blessing of Sanctuary which allows you to safely grind on packs of 3-4 melee mobs and makes you unkillable with a shield. With fast 1H weapon you can regen mana like crazy with Judgement and seal of wisdom. It's faster and also more fun Slow 2H+Seal of Command is good but is also very prone to bad RNG when you get 3-4 misses/dodges in a row, no procs of the seal and suddenly you're screwed
Curious to what your first 11 points look like in Holy Tree (str or int) & in general how you fill out both the retribution tree before respec at 41 and protection tree then. New to paladin and I believe your leveling approach is better to what guides I've found online.
@@gottkin first points go to int and spiritual focus (it will save your life). Get Consecration obviously. After that you can go to Ret tree picking up Benediction, Parry, Pursuit and Conviction. Imho early ret talents don't add much to your damage output. Imp. Judgement looks nice but will burn through your mana. I usually judge Crusader than smack with SoR and only judge for damage if absolutely needed or i can spare mana. Or You can go straight into Prot. Get Redoubt, Precision (hit is huge), Guardian's Favor (more BoPs is always better). If you plan to tank early dungeons (which you should imo) get Imp. RF. After that i like yo get Imp. HoJ as a poor man's interrupt and another survival tool. Then 4 points into Toughness and get BoSanc at 41. With this setup you can start comfortably killing 2-3 mobs at a time in early 20s
@@gottkin After that get Reckoning and 1H Spec. There is information that 1H spec. increase ALL damage by 10% not just w3apon damage. I will try to test it more
@Khagrim thats Very nice, where can I go to learn more about the class? Im trying to get good at this game after being a noob for ages now. I've decided to main pala even though its supposedly trash in vanilla but idc. Thanks again for the tips, I will try to find more info and go for your build.
If you are fighting multiple mobs or even 1 mob and you want to get a heal off without being interrupted, then make a macro which will put concentration aura on and then cast the holy light spell. This has saved me before and is a good tip for anyone new to paladins. Also, when leveling don't sleep on gear with some intellect on it because pallys are very mana inefficient when it comes to seal twisting. Great video though!! Looking forward to official hardcore.
Great tip with the intellect gear and using concentration aura before casting heals. Thanks for sharing this, hopefully the viewers get to watch this comment :) I'll upvote it to improve the chance of it happening.
Yo that’s genius. Appreciate ya! Running a prot spec right now with points in holy and ret first hand for the consecration and mana reduction for my seals along with reduced judgment cooldown.
For great retribution paladin AoE dps, get the reaver from SM. Complete the quest to get blast enchant. This is different than the one from enchanting. The quest version explodes for AoE damage very often. When the whirlwind goes off, it will hit targets in range, and then each target hit has a chance to explode. This was incredibly efficient and puts you just below casters AoE damage.
With duels to death I'd say dwarf is BiS due to stoneform preventing blind, as you cant cleanse while blinded. Very niche, but worth a thought i reckon.
I chose dwarf paladin as I will only be healing end game, the weapon skill felt like a very minor bonus not enough to keep me from choosing the race I enjoy more
I alway ask this myself. Everyone say go Retri with a 2h and Command but I feel like a 1h with Right or Crusade is more efficient and fast. All other classes kill so much faster then us.
Is this a safer build? I know with warrior, prot spec wasn't worth it because you would take less damage by killing stuff faster, so mitigation doesn't matter as much. Is that different with paladins?
@@Rexvideowow you only kill stuff slightly faster with a 2hander. Now, at 40 ish plus you can also pull more than 1 mob, making it faster. You can easily heal due to reduced pushback talent. You stack int, so plenty of mana. Its great
