its okay for a game to die. I had my fun with paladins. It could have been so much better but Ive made peace with the fact that it wont get better. Paladins is a fond memory for me.

There's little reason to play right now before the next update. The update was delayed, people are hyped for it, most people have already completed the Battle Pass and the Trials' quests, ranked was disabled and will reset next update anyways, there'll be many loadout/champion changes soon (what's the point of keeping playing stuff that's gonna be obsolete soon), there's no sustainable professional scene for people to practice, and sincerely the game still feels wonky after the item changes (it was cool they updated the item story, but novelty can be disorienting, "What do I buuuuy...?"). We're just chilling 'til the next update drops (well, I am).

No update = why would I sweat and break my mental state with trolls and afks?

Paladins 2 relaunch is the only thing that will save this game's reputation.

It’s low because it’s between updates. Numbers are also higher if you consider the console player base and how it’s more than half of the total player count. The issue is, there’s only cosmetics being released. People want game modes, better ranked, champions etc

4500 hours player here. The only thing that can save this game right now is a relaunch aka Paladins 2. So if you want to save it, go spam hirez with comments and it might happen. Gigantic is getting relaunched in april because fans YELLED for 5 years and they finally did it. Bullying works.™️

I'm playing this game bc I'm attached to it , but if you show the game to someone who plays other games with better graphics they will not even ask what s this game .... This game was very playable in 2016 but that time passed out , we need some real changes about this game like better graphics , better interface , better name , better ways to gain Crystals in the game idk what to say but this game needs some real changes.... Maybe they should focus more to making the game look more premium ,so more people can start playing and feel like they play a 2024 game...Firstly they should focus more on doing things for better views better gameplay experience , they only nerf dmgs and buff flanks and etc ...They should start dig into the game and make a new one

As Smite player, I tried to come back to Paladins after years and I don't find this game fun anyone and it's in very sad state. This game still feels like in beta, so raw, Hi-Rez / EvilMojo don't have resourses to fix visual bugs, they don't even have resourses to make worthy battle pass and champion splash art was removed probably because they don't have artists anymore.

I just returned to play a few matches today after a long break. And how did the game greet me? The match-making system put me match to match to match in teams that just refused to pick tanks (I myself picked Janos, the others picked damage, damage, DAMAGE!!1). It was a one-sided clown show back to back. Who would have ever known that a team without a tank loses against a team WITH a tank? So, my question is... With a match-making like this, with no role queue in the game, what is my motivation to play more games? Asking as a casual player.

If we dont get paladins 2 in the next 2 years this game will shutdown the game looks bad full of bugs even updates doesnt come in time like the current one

Well, obviously since there hasn't been a new champion in a while and omen is meh.

I've played Paladins from 2016 till a few months back and while I don't think (and hope that it's not) on its last legs, I can understand why the player count has declined. Aside from some big releases recently, the game is still buggy, janky, and graphically it has aged, which isn't a big problem in itself, but the overall fun-factor and gameplay doesn't hold up (at least for me) due to bugs, server problems and the growing number of toxic matches (AFKs, Throwers, and questionable human beings). Another thing that bothers me is it feels like the main focus is on skins and new champions with little focus on ironing out the many bugs that are still prevalent. While I understand that champions and skins bring in revenue, why would I (and I assume others) want to continue purchasing them, if the game is borderline unplayable at times and in my case, the item that you buy is locked a few months later and customer support just tells you that this is a known issue. I love this game, I really do, it has been with me through a lot of moments in life, I've gone through a messy breakup, buried a beloved pet, graduated high school and then college, all while playing Paladins in my free time, but sadly, there's not much that makes me want to play anymore.

This game should get another name in my opinion , Paladins can t be a very high popular name like Fortnite or Valorant ... If you understand what I'm saying , that's only a small thing , the other thing should be about graphic improvements ...and a way more better then that like look at the water in the game or look at the other stuff like plants and etc. ... (maybe some graphics closer to Valorant, Overwatch idk) , the other thing and most important it's about promoting this game like.... they don't pay shit for promoting ....only the small youtubers that play only Paladins on their channel post gameplays....they should pay more attention about that bc that's the most important thing....They should extend and we need to see more Paladins gameplays from bigger youtubers from different country's , that's how this game can get more attention from other who doesn't play Paladins and didn't try yet.....But before trying to promote it they should do some changes about the game to look more premium and gameplay experience should be much better then now

I stopped playing a while back ,maybe 2022.The game was so buggy ,it crushed all the time ..Plus the condent was starting to stagnate .Then overwatch 2 came out and I lost complete interest in paladins. Kool video though

Don't worry - it is still much higher than all the HiRez games released after Paladins... combined :P With Tribes Rivals already getting boycotted for Denuvo, I feel like either Paladins 2 or Smite 2 should already be in the works, well unless Erez enjoys burning money.

I just started playing Paladins recently. Most of my fiends list is playing Helldivers 2, and before that they were playing poke'mon with guns. There will always be some fad game that everyone migrates to for the short term.

It might even get worse as on April 9th the revived Gigantic releases and depending on how much success it makes this time people might have an incentive to actually give that one a shot. Personally I'd love to see you try it, too!

Id return if they removed cauterize and balanced healing. The everyone having cauterize change a while back was a deal breaker for me. Everything just felt terrible after that.

Would love to play it again, but it crashes every 3 games and the music always cuts out. So I can only play like 2.5 games without background music + it also lags a lot while in the game. Doesnt encourage me to play for more than an hour a week

Coming from a casual player, Paladins is not an attractive game to get into. I really enjoy hero shooters and Overwatch was fumbling at the time so I finally gave the game a try. It's incredibly fun, but there's nothing I can see myself investing in. There's a lot of great skins... but they still have the terrible loot box system that feels outdated. Spending crystals feels like a waste because I truly don't know how long my investment into the game will last. I have to talk myself into buying anything whereas other games it feels like a no-brainer. Overwatch massively upset it's community and paladins did absolutely nothing to capitalise on that opportunity. Not even a few ads. I don't know why they assume this game can survive without drawing in new players. Hi-Rez clearly doesn't care about the game, so it doesn't feel like I should either. That's not to say that Evil Mojo doesn't. The commitment from the actual devs is the only thing that has kept me from going back to Overwatch or a new game. Paladins has survived this long, yet to Hi-Rez that means nothing. They choose to chase trends and abandon projects. They shovel money into all these other games, but the ones with a proven player base get to barely crawl after being starved of resources. Overwatch 2 didn't make so much money just by existing. Sure it was a terrible launch and a lot of broken promises and scummy practices, but Blizzard poured money into it. I don't want to get good and grind out the terrible ranked mode, or even actively improve. Unless they actively make changes I think many people will feel the same. It seems like the only game they can really get right is Smite, and Hi-Rez is perfectly happy to just ctrl+c a sequel. Just another trend to follow, I guess.

I skipped the last battle pass outright because it was underwhelming. I love support champions but that Grover skin was terrible. To see something of that quality being put in the pass is a terrible sign, especially compared to older skins. As a newer player I appreciate the chance to earn older battle pass skins, but it doesn't give the best impression if I'm being honest. From a very cynical standpoint all it does is scream a lack of resources to actively make new things. I'm not sure how many skins the passes used to contain, but 4 skins (2 of them being recolours) is... underwhelming. Battle/event passes tend to feel like a grind, but the glacial pace that some pretty meagre rewards are earned doesn't feel too great. At the very least, the passes are cheap and you can just earn crystals from the login rewards. However, most players are probably veterans, they probably have a bunch of crystals saved anyway. Hi-Rez doesn't even try to advertise their game so aside from some curious people testing out a free game or seeing a content creator play it, I'm not sure how they are getting new players in.

I mean I don't wanna be just pointing fingers and whatnot, but it seems hella susy about bots. As in... IDK when was it maybe a bit under a year ago? The increase seemed too steep even when people were attributing it to OW players leaving OW and coming over. BUT that aside, if you look at the numbers of player and compare peaks to low points, regardless of the exact players, could be a game that has around 20 players, could be a game that has 400 000 either ways I'd think the relation between peaks and low points to be more or less similar, and sure it still varies, but to me looks like most games have about 2.5-3 times the players in their peaks compared to low points, but it's not overly rare to have it be within the 2-4 range. Now with Paladins that relation was a little under 2, which in of itself is sus that there are "players" which are online 100% of the time, and that kinda points towards bots to me. AND THEN looking at the sudden drop now, that almost proves it to me, like what? 3 thousand people just at the exact moment of time decided to quit out and never play the game again? It really just looks like they got rid of the bots. I mean of course I really really hope the game becomes popular and all the issues are solved, but well to be real I have quite the doubts. And I admit I haven't seriously played and kept up with the game in over a year now, sure I'd drop by now and then or watch a vid, but back in the day I used to grind every day for years, and I guess I did somewhat burn myself out, and IDK I don't think the state of the game really helped.

Well as a very active player many of my friends who were old left the game because of ranked cross play, playing into a automatic tracking system is not something very fair at all and its just unfair thats why they left the game + the amount of annoying champions there are and unfair games

Honestly when they took out TDM. I’ve stopped playing. I have a dozen or so friends that I play with when they are on. We play TDM matches because they are fun quick matches. After a few TDM matches we might play Siege, but not often. Onslaught is a horrible game mode. If they bring back TDM, myself and others will return.

Every new update is pretty bad, they do not have support, they do not have customer support, real CM etc. People are giving them so many feedback and they implement just 0...0001%. For example from a few years I have been telling them to put at least a boosters in the Abyss Chest since I have 12 of these chests and I'm not able to open them and they do nothing. 0 feedback, nobody is answering when you submit a ticket for an issue...And now look what event pass they introduced... with OLD skins, wtf? How they expect from me to buy it? How they expect to make money if the recolor and reuse the same content always and always? I will keep my crystals for another 2 months for sure...nothing interesting to make me play it. And to not mention that we wait years for new maps and what they do is just "reworks" again...

Altho epic has a anoing chat bug steam for me crash about 1/100 games but epic hasnt ever crashed on me personaly thats why i use epic

heres my hope... they will start to stop bringing new content to the game so they can focus on paladins 2 on unreal engine 5, better graphics, otimization, less bugs... less champions too (yes) they would need to remake all the champions so it would be good to restart with a small number of champions and they could alternate bettwen launching the "old" champions from paladins 1 (the most popular ones) and sometimes newer champions that were not on paladins 1...

For the love of God... Just let this game die already ! And i don't say that to sound edgy because i have fond memories of Paladins, it's more like a mercy kill to me. This game had become the pinnacle of boredom and frustration combined. Nothing is fun in this game anymore because everyone just do the same shit everytime. Pick Meta champs, pick best Talent for said champ, wait for youtuber to release video about a "busted" playstyle with X, shamefuly import said deck from said RU-vidr, abuse the ever fucking shit of said busted playstyle till it get nerf, next patch come and... repeat from start. Loadouts had just become stats increasing instead of shifting abilities to become more unique like they used to back in time. The game look closer to an RPG than a MOBA on that point. EVent passes are full of nothing with just meh skin quality at best. The list could go on and on but I rather stop there. Like other said, the best move they could so with Paladins would be to let it die, wait a year or two so people forget about it and then relauches into Paladins 2 because trust me Paladins 1 is definitely lost.

I just wish there was more than TDM Onslaught Siege for bot matches, I was never a fan of quick play or ranked and I crave variety like Halo.
