I already hunted the great Izuchi kunai only with a friend! Surprisingly fun, but took like 20-40min, so I don’t know how viable hunting a larger monster would be. xD
It's hard not to. You can't just say "oh by the way dogs" and then remove them one game later. That would be like saying hunters can fight underwater and then being like "wait no nevermind".
I ‘m in love with this version of Mizutsune’s theme. Anyway, I actually thought of doing this before hearing or seeing anything about it but I won’t go through with it. Cool that it’s possible tho.

We don't know if the full game will allow our Palamute to be a good damaging source because as we progress into the game we will get Palamute armours and possibly weapons. So it might just happen. If palico rally skill makes return then it will probably be more fun to try this out.
i was fighting mizutsune with hunting and it took me 1 retry 2 carts and 45 minutes to finish the job and canta shows me i was playing the wrong weapon
@@oak3684 i wouldn't consider myself a pro since the pro's are already getting sub 8 on mizutsune, but 20 minutes solo does seem like a rather average time imo
@@RON_FBG Again, like I said, for SOME, just being able to survive long enough and take down the monster on their own before the time runs out is already an amazing achievement for them. I have quite a lot of friends that are not very good in solo hunting but very capable in co-op. Besides, my comment is supposed to be a joke, since if I say that the hunt last 20 mins, which is less than Canta's Palamute-only hunt of 30 mins, then it wouldn't work, so I have to say 40 mins. Man, it's 2021 and I still have to explain my joke on RU-vid.😅
We don't know how much attack or defense anything is in the game yet, unless someone datamined that like the other silkbind attacks. We can't even look at our equipment and they even stripped weapons of status and elemental damage. We will be making equipment for the palamutes though so the answer to your question is that palamutes will have however much attack you give them plus their stats from their level (probably)
@@milk_soap. If you're interested I could use the spiribirds and armor seeds to calculate our approximate defense assuming the damage monsters deal to hunters is the same as it used to be.
Have you maybe considered bringing along HH to do this to give your palamute attack boosts? That might be the best way to go about it. Hop off, toot out a quick Attack Up, hop back on lol
@@CantaPerMe fair point, fair point. I was thinking about trying it that way paired with Palamute/Palico boosting armor skills in the full game just to see how far it could be pushed. It'd be nice for this gimmick if you could also manually activate your dog's skills like the chain blade it uses in the demo...
Oh... you’re only attacking while riding the dog? I was expecting you to wildly swing at the air across the field from the monster and control the dog remotely considering he attacks when you do. Unless they don’t do that mid-combat for some reason? But respect for the run!
