Back on the hunt!
In this video I hit a Paleocene (~66-56 M.Y.A.) fossil site to look for shark teeth and other fossils from the time just after the dinosaurs met their demise! This was right after a big storm, which is usually a great time to fossil hunt, but unfortunately this storm threw a ton of sand and debris onto the beach which really hindered our collecting. Nonetheless, it was a good day of hunting! I managed to find a few beautiful little fossil crocodile teeth, and some decent shark teeth as well. I hope you enjoy the video, and if you’re attending the Aurora Fossil Festival in NC this weekend, I hope to see you there! Like, comment, and subscribe! ~HH

Great video. If the species are the same as the Palaeocene over here in the UK, your teeth with the striations on the blade are Striatolamia striata, your large tooth with the nice cusps is a Jaekelotodus Robustus and the small fish plate is a section from a broken Phylodus.

I love the Paleocene fossils around DC! Those are some really nice finds! I found a location right near DC where I found an Otodus that was almost 2 inches. There’s also another location where you can collect right out the sand stone with a rock hammer. The teeth are just stunning! Great finds man!

Awesome finds for one trip! Although I primarily collect Cretaceous teeth, I love the Paleocene finds, as well. We have a few Paleocene spots in NJ. I believe some of your finds are from the sand tiger Striatolamia.
