I like how they're saying that Israelis don't want peace but keep on saying "they need to leave for us to have peace"....that just means you're the one who don't want peace...

Golda Meir summed it up perfectly: Peace will come, when the Arabs will love their children more, than they hate us.

What Western supporters of the Palestinians want for Palestinians and what Palestininans want for themselves have always been two very different things. That is why this conflict has gone on for 80 years.

These people have a distorted view of history. I wish peace for the Palestinian people but they are wrong and they are unwilling to compromise.

I am sure the surviving citizens of Constantinople had the same feelings about the Ottomans. Go away and give us back our lands and our city. But that did not happen for 568 long years and still continues..

To an Israeli peace-supporter this is a very depressing video. It's message is that we are lying to ourselves in thinking that we can solve this conflict. It gives the impression that non of the Palestinians share our vision. They all what us out. Ulfat from Ramalla, the last interviewee, was the only one who expressed a pragmatic, life-seeking way of thinking. I was born here, my parents were born here, and we don't have any other country to "go back" to. We are here to stay. So are the Palestinians. We both have deep historical roots connecting us to this place. We need to reach a compromise. I always believed in it. Was I completely wrong?

If Israelis were born in Israel, it's their home, they're not gonna leave. The place their parents came from is irrelevant. How does no one seem to get that? Learning history is important but the conflict needs to be solved now, not in 1948

This makes me so sad to hear what they think. I’m Australian and descended from refugees. Some of the refugees in my heritage were Jews. There is no point in me holding hatred for those who caused the suffering of my ancestors and caused them to flee for their lives. Now I am here. Speaking as a Palestinian I can say this is the problem, everyone I know doesn’t agree with this. Israel isn’t going anywhere so we need to coexist peacefully and either a two state or one state with equal rights for both. Palestine will be free one day but Israel is here to stay and we need to face facts. The Israeli government is rage bad guy who made this feeling within Palestinian hearts and minds but many Jewish people are nice respectable people, many protested with us for equal rights but it’s the far right that is the problem

I want the best for the Palestinian people but this is so painful to watch! They have zero interest in any serious plans for peace. “We like Jews but they should not have a country here.” Do they even know what the name Jerusalem means? It was named after & for Jews Do they not even read their Koran which three times I am told mentions Isreal as the home for the Jews. Israel was re-formed on land previously ruled by the Ottoman empire, similarly to other countries in the region such as Lebanon, Iraq and others. There is no such thing as "Palestinian people". It's worth noting that newspapers such as the 'Palestine post' were Jewish newspapers (this one for example turned into the 'Jerusalem post'). This is also true about other official "Palestine" related stuff from the time before Israel was re-formed. Hebrews were the majority in Jerusalem even before the birth of the Zionist movement in the 19th century. If someone happened to use the term "Palestine" before the re-formation of Israel, he was referring to the homeland of the Jevvs (the land of Israel) - not the Arabs. The Palestinian people said it themselves. They refused to negotiate or compromise one step. They have created their own destiny.

The secular israelis want to give palestinian people a state. I used to think they were the most the reasonable and should be in charge. But I think the majority of palestinians don't want peace and want all of israel as palestine. No matter what the international community wants for the palestinian people, what matters more is what the palestinian people want for themselves. The reason they never accepted a 2 state solution is because the majority don't want one or would use it as a springboard for the rest of israel. In this case, whatever netanyahu is doing is probably the right choice in terms of the palestinian people.

I think that the next question that you should have asked them is "would you considering engaging a war with Israel to conquer the land, and do you accept the option of losing it?" It seems like they do not want to compromise, but also don't want to take the risk of losing all.

When asked recently on a Saudi political show what would happen if all the Jews of Israel were to convert to Islam; the response was clear, no more conflict. The conflict isn't about land. It's only about religion!

My dad’s side of the family is from Cyprus, and the consequences of the 1974 Turkish invasion was the displacement of both Greek and Turkish Cypriots on the island, leaving everything to go live somewhere they’ve never lived before. It’s not a happy part of Cypriot history, it’s a sad part. Many Israelis may have come over after 1948, but the children and even adults now of almost every Israeli have lived in that area all their life and the idea that a people who were displaced will further displace other people when they’re victorious is not only unrealistic but would further the pain of the conflict

Over 2000 years ago this entire area was known and recognized as Judea. The name Palestine was given by the Roman occupiers and means 'tp be free of jews'

I have to say that I am not sure all Palestinian interviewed would have felt free to express interest in anything less than some version of "total victory". There is strong pressure in Palestinian society (and other Arab societies) to conform to the more radical opinions and narratives, at least in the public sphere, and to reject anything that could be interpreted as normalization with Israel.

The problem is as clear as day. Generations of Palestinians have been lied to about the land of Palestinian. When you tell a lie for long enough, people start to believe it.

I think I favored the final interviewee the best - and not just because she spoke proper English. She appeared authentic and well balanced in her thoughts, her heart appeared a healthier place than the other interviewees. *_TRUST !!_*

There is no Palestine!! Sadly every time we in Israel try to resolve the conflict they refuse. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

"This land is our land and we don't agree to negotiate." OK then. Israel is not negotiating.

This is what I've known for all my adult life: there is no negotiating with the Palestinians. The Israeli people learned this the hard way, citizens changed their votes from socialist left, to Likud and far right. Now the Israelis don't want to negotiate anymore either. In the 80s, Israelis still cared, but that's over.

Jordan occupies 80% of the land called 'Palestine'. Jordan is already an Arab-Muslim 'Palestinian State'. Gaza is already a 'Palestinian State', and so is Israel, for that matter.. and most of the 'palestinian refugees' are actually citizens of Jordan anyway. It's time to accept the reality that everyone knows, and the arab-muslim 'palestinians' openly admit: they WILL NOT coexist with Jews.. It's time to wipe Hamas from Gaza and make Gaza the state for the segment of the PA who are willing to coexist peacefully yet wish to retain independence from Israel and Jordan. The rest of them, ALL of them, must go to Jordan, which is 80% of Palestine anyway, and which gave up any claim to sovereignty over the 'west bank', just as Egypt gave up claims to sovereignty over Gaza. Any who've not committed crime or violence should be compensated and assisted in relocating. Israel should assist Jordan in establishing a city infrastructure and residences to receive the PA. In addition, a two-way 'bullet' train system (a new branch of the Orient Express) could connect Israel and Jordan (and eventually the rest of the middle east), to encourage trade and tourism. The gold domed 'Al Aqsa' Mosque should also be moved to Jordan (perhaps to Petra), so that jews can excavate and restore the holy sites which are sacred and important to so many. They admit they hate Jews and WILL NOT coexist with jews; it's time to separate. Let them hate jews from the other side of the river..

To put it in terms that palestinians will understand, Israel exercised its "right of return" in 1948, which is 5,000 years old and supercedes all other "right of return" assertions, including those of the palestinians. Israelis are the indegenous people of the land and have been for about 5,000 years. Once palestinians start living in the present and building for the future, they will consider living in peace.

I am always so confused. Obviously jews have a right to exist in the middle east. But is their only option to be second class citizens (dhimmi)? Jews were in the middle east before Islam was founded. How can they have no historical claim to the land?
