Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina EXPLAINED! 

This trio perfectly define the term “legendary” they are definitely the most godlike of all the legendaries.

Their secondary types are also because they each represent a state of matter. Dialga=solid, Palkia=liquid, Giratina=gas

All three of their faces also resemble Arceus.

Giratina banishes because of its aggressive nature. My giratina nature is gently .🙃

Giratina's Pokédex entry: *Was banished for its violent nature.* In Pokémon-Amie: My Giratina, after chomping a snack in one bite: *Bounce energically up and down like a baby Pokémon* Me, completely under the spell: "Aww, who's the cutest world-destroying entity? That's you! You are!"

They are also based on the three states of matter. Solid for dialga, liquid for pailka, and gas for giratina.

The Creation Trio (Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina) is definitely my #1 favorite Legendary Trio in the Pokemon universe. Also, please explain the Weather Trio (Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza) and the Aura Trio (Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde).

It is a shame that you didnt mention their appearance in the movie trilogy. Their powers are shown here. Palkia literaly ripped a town out of the world and put it in between dimensions,and allso managed to sorta warp the space around aarceus to try stop him, dialga sent a group of people back in time to prevent a guy from nearly killing arceus, giratina can dissapear and appear in a different place...

This literally showed up for me while i was fighting Giratina while replaying Platinum

My theory is that the Griseuos Orb is meant to look distorted, as it allows girantina access to its distortion realm form.

Just like how we got Primal Groudon and Kyogre in the Hoenn remake when they held the Red or Blue Orb, I wanna see these three get new forms in a sinnoh remake. We even already have each legendary's respective orbs!

If Giritina represents antimatter then wouldn't the Grecious Orb be an orb of antimatter? Would explain its dark coloring instead of looking like a ball of platinum

One thing to also note about Giratina that may not be apparent at first: Giratina has: 6 ribs, 6 red spikes/tentacles, and 6 legs/large spikes 666. Very clever Game Freak

Dialga is my favorite legendary because it was the first legendary i caught and first to lvl 100

The Original Legendary Pokemon. The first to be created by the Original Mythical Arceus.

My favorite sinnoh legendary is Palkia because its water and Dragon and grass is not super effective on dragons( but its effective due to it being a water type)

we finally get confirmation on giratina thanks to legends: it was banished, yes, and initially it was *pissed* to the point that it formed a pact with a human (volo) to try to challenge arceus. neither of them counted on arceus sending someone from the future to deal with them. after a long battle, giratina mellowed out. once its captured, it roamed the world with its new friend from the future, growing a deeper sense of appreciation for the world its father made. when it finally returned to the distortion world, it realized it doesnt need to be its prisoner: it could be its warden. centuries later, when cyrus royally screwed with things, it also met a human that looks distinctly like its friend from long ago. after a friendly spar, it roams the real world with its new friend. the cycle is complete. its super heartwarming to see giratina go from just as evil as the dex portrayed it as to a guardian of the world with its brothers.

Honestly lore wise and not counting Megas or primals the creation trio is definitely the strongest trio

I don't feel like giratina wants to be evil and I think it's just do to his power and Arceus needed someone to blame for if anything went wrong, or that Arceus had to separate his power into the three dragons to be at peace because imagine holding all that power, it's like holding the maximum weight you can carry for 5 years, your going to get tired, fatigued and wore down if you don't get to rest and can get crushed by the weight.

Great video! I played the crap out of these Diamond and Pearl back in the day. I remember I was helping a friend play through Diamond and he ran into a shiny Dialga! We were just 11 and didn't know what shiny Pokemon were yet. FYI, things with a pH over 7 are Basic, not Acidic.

This reminds me so much of The Wyld, Weaver, and Wyrm in the Werewolf the Apocalypse universe.

Giratina's shiny colors much more closely resemble that of Platinum. It is my theory that Giratina used to represent ALL matter, not just antimatter. Platinum is a form of matter that is nearly perfect, and the fractal geometry of the Griseous Orb shows a focus on precise structure of matter. Matter has mass, and mass creates gravity. Antimatter also has mass and gravity, but the two polarities of matter are self defeating in a very explosively violent way. Perhaps Giratina's existence before its banishment was a constant struggle to balance its two material halves, and because it was causing indiscriminate destruction everywhere as a byproduct of its misunderstood suffering, it was punished and cleaved spiritually in two by Arceus, leaving it as a shadowy, ephemeral husk of its former self. The bright hope and responsibility Giratina once represented in the creation trio dulled from platinum to brass, and the Griseous Orb shared that tarnished, diminished fate. Giratina could never again rule both matter and antimatter at the same time, and as it was banished to a realm solely made from Antimatter, the choice of which type it was allowed to govern was already made. Palkia may have gained a second pearl within its form as it took over Giratina's responsibility over positive matter. Otherwise, I see no reason why it should have two precious gems instead of just one, like Dialga. Side note, your mention of Hoopa in the same breath as Palkia gave me the idea that Hoopa might be to Palkia what Celebi is to Dialga. Food for thought.

The Regi trio would be awesome

You should do 'best late game Pokemon from each game'. Every game has its own set of Pokemon you can't get until after you beat all the gyms and are on your way to face the Elite Four. Some you can't even get until after that in the post game. And usually, that includes one super cool and powerful Pokemon we all wish we could have on our team. Most of them are Pseudo Legendary Pokemon, with only Dragonite, Garchomp and Goodra being possible to get in their original game. You should do that list.

I once had a dream of me going somewhere and in Pokémon go I found a “wild” dialga, I told my mom to catch it too but then after I caught dialga, a palkia also spawned with dialga

they dont really always hold their orb when you catch them in dppt. they do hold it when hatched from the egg in hgss

Also the reason why mirage island in hoenn is hard to find is because the wobofetts and wynauts( sorry for the misspell) kept hogging the lechi berries and that made dialga pause time there

Of all the creation trio Giratina has to be my favorite of the three. He’s has an interesting design with is fitting for the Pokémon he is and he had a lot more personality of the three. It’s a shame that you think in anime they could have found a way to fit Giratina into the DP series so it’ll make it feel more memorable besides in the movies.

I think originally The Griseous Orb might have been more platinum in colour, Arceus banishing Giratina to the Distortion World may have changed it's appearance.

I like how they all have armor and under it all have the same look but different stance you can tell by their exposed face just a little detail i love and just one more thing I didn’t notice until I saw another comment on this video they have kinda resemble arceus especially the face

As for the other 2, Diamond was my first pokemon game, so I have quite the sentimental attachment to Dialga and Giratina (she was my first hidden legendary find, plus Ghost has always been a favorite of mine) but admittedly I thought Dialga was a horse... don't judge me the 2D models didn't portray them as fully as the 3D ones. Also I won't say what I thought Palkia looked like...

A bit of ingame deep lore trivia about the three: All of them seem to also have a connection to the Unknown: Sinnoh is the last region featuring them next to the Sevii Islands and their debut region Johtoh, which appears to have a connection to the ancient people of Sinnoh and even built a shrine to honour Arceus Also: Some of the regular Pokémon inhabiting Sinnoh that live around the areas associated with either the Creation Trio or the Unknown share some common features: In Mt. Coronet there live many Pokémon that resemble Bell Chimes, such as Chimecho, Chingling and Bronzong and near the Ruins of the Unknown, there dwell Duskull, whose final form (also invented with SInnoh region) Dusknoir resembles a Paper lantern, has a similar Antenna appendage like Chimecho and a Head that is also somewhat shaped like a bell with a handle I just find this interesting because Bells also play a huge role in Johtho culture, were they are the key to inviting Ho-Oh and Lugia to their shrines and it´s a theme that seemingly carried over into the Darkrai Movie, were the magic Song Oracíon is also played on a large bell instrument Heck, there is even a Tower in Viola City honoring Bellsprout - another Bell shaped Pokémon and is built in the same style as the Bell Tower in Ecruteak while this does not reveal much about the Creation Trio themselves it seems that Bells played an important role in how the ancient people of Sinnoh and Johto contacted or worshiped the Legendary Pokémon

Giratina was the most underrated Pokémon but he was powerful a truly he is badass

I always loved dialga way more but when i started my platinum file (the file i made for nostalgia) i felt like palkia was way more fun to use to absolutely swipe the elite for together with my infernape while i didnt really use dialga anymore. Either way gen 4 is so great and i want to play it again

Platinum does not fade, tarnish, or turn color. However, with age, it does take on a patina and show slight scratches.

“Acidic things” strictly have a pH under 7. Alkaline refers to compounds that have a pH above 7 making them basic instead of acidic.

Yveltal has a similar move to giratina, phantom force, it does the exact same thing but its either slightly weaker or the same

Ah. My 2nd favourite trio (behind only the weather trio), but it's a close call. These three are so fantastic! Great stats, have deep-lore associated with them and look great too. Here's to hoping Palkia and Giratina get some sort of Primal version in the remakes :)

My anime crushes. I love those 3. Can you explain as to why Hoopa was able to control the Creation Trio? Also why Ash acted like he didn't met any legendary Pokemon in the hoopa movie?

Fun fact; antimatter is what causes black holes, black holes have a powerful gravitational pull. The trio are basically living embodiments of the 3 laws: Time, Space and Gravity.

I’m little sad he didn’t go into detail about their types like how the reason & inspiration for Palkia being a water type is cause the way you can measure something space like how much they space they take up is thought dipping it into water or how dialga steel type is from the origin of being able to tell using metals if that makes sense ? Origin form Giratina is also modeled after those giant centipedes Japan has that are seen as evil because they sting really bad and are generally unpleasant to deal with. TBH I don't think the pokedex entries about Giratina are accurate so much as referencing in-universe assumptions people made about it the same way in gen 7 it was mentioned people thought Solgaleo and Lunala were male and female respectively even though we know they're genderless. Yeah it has allusions to fallen angels but it's also other things such as a representation of one of the states of matter. The pokedex _says_ that Giratina was banished but it's clearly capable of leaving the Distortion world, since it chooses to intervene when Cyrus is about to attempt to destroy and recreate the universe and can be found outside the distortion world. The movie's reverse world doesn't work the same way as the game's distortion world but the only reason it got stuck was because Dialga caused time to loop back every time it tried to leave with its own portals, so it needed to find an alternate way out to break the cycle and regain the ability to enter and leave freely. It does it just fine afterwards and Arceus didn't have any issue with its presence after his temper tantrum is resolved. With how the plaque referencing it was removed and Cyrus didn't know anything about it despite all the research his plot would've required, the games seem to portray Giratina as largely unknown even to people familiar with Sinnoh legends. Its association with Palkia and Dialga implies it would've been just as involved in the creation of matter as they are despite not being mentioned in the Sinnoh creation myth, so the pokedex entries are probably referencing assumptions people made about the big scary ghost dragon that lives in a strange dimension where the laws of physics don't work quite right. All it really does in the games is save the universe from Cyrus and maybe test you with the distortion world segment. It totally could've killed Cyrus if it wanted to and just watches you when you make your way up to it afterwards so it's not necessarily as violent and antagonistic as people assume.
