Logie-nominated actor Pallavi Sharda is among some of Australia’s most inspiring women who are raising their voices to empower 1,000 girls.
Pallavi spent many years as a star in Bollywood before rising to fame here in Australia through her roles in The Twelve (Binge) and Wedding Season (Netflix). She is a vocal advocate for multicultural understanding, women’s rights and the abolition of fast fashion.
In this video, Pallavi raises her voice for girls by sharing the story of Sumaiya, from Bangladesh. Sumaiya is only 11, yet she works until 10 every night in a garment factory, often with nothing to eat. Her only dream is to have a full meal at home, cooked by her mother.
World Vision is calling on Australians to join Pallavi in our movement to sponsor 1,000 girls by 11 October, International Day of the Girl. You can help rewrite the story of a vulnerable girl. #1000girls
