Truly informative! I needed a reference that highlighted basic wood frame construction methods & techniques where ru-vid.comUgkxYGamVaHfdHiPlAQaLa7zkwR02OKpGYDU were best. I am pleased with the depth and clarity of Ryan’s Shed Plans. It was really convenient to capture!
James Saunders thanks James, actually turned it into a cigar box guitar workshop now, didn't even know about them when I built the shed, mad. check me out on Facebook, Screaming Skull Guitars. 😁
Thanks peer, I'm very proud of it, I hope the video is helping people build their's, I've had nearly 1 million views on the video, it's unbelievable how much interest there is.
I like the final result, but I'm struggling to see why pallets were the way to go. With amount of money spent on the cladding and boarding out ,wouldn't it have been quicker to just frame it ?
Guys I found a very good website about woodworking that is NewShedPlans31.blogspot.com this website contains more then 12000 woodworking shed plans. Recommended
Amazing build mate, just bought 75 or so pallets to make a shed with my daughter for a summer project, going to use your build as a rough blueprint. How much did it cost you, looks amazing
WHAT !!!!!!!!!! we get enough cliff hangers on TV we don't need them on the tube! I was looking forward to seeing the interior completed & the you go and pull the rug from under our feet : (
Teniendo algun conocimiento en contrucción te podés hacer una casa con poco dinero .Incluso podés reciclar los materiales que tiran en las grandes contrucciones edificios .
Absolutely brilliant, another brilliant work of Jesus to die for our sins... that is so marvelous, if you are not yet born again please repent before it's late accept Jesus as your spiritual saviour and rapture is closer than you can imagine be saved and do not vaccinate
Hi I totally love your shed! Amazing craftsmanship, looks solid as... I'm thinking of doing something similar just a bit bigger 5.5m x 3.5m. How did you stop the walls bowing out in the middle where the pallets join? I am concerned the walls will kind of 'bulge' if not strengthened. Cheers
Hi Ross, thanks mate, well I just bottomed them together with screws and 3x2. Bowing never happened once even when I was building it. As soon as the roof joists were on they were really solid. It doesn't creek or anything which I was expecting if I'm honest. It really is very solid.

Hey looks good mate! I will do this on my little chunk of land seems cheap to do eh? Any tips to make the structure stronger? And how is the shed holding up in 2021? Thanks 🤩
Hi, well its deffinately cheaper than buying a building stock, I really enjoyed it. Its going great, I keep meaning to do a followup video and will soon. Good luck with yours. 👍
Absolutely superb! I've started planning mine for 2021. Just a couple of questions? What was the highest point (UK build regs), did you have any resistance from neighbours and are you running 240 as Im thinking solar? Can't wait for part 2 😀
Thanks mate, really appreciate that, local gegs were 2400mm I think, can't remember, just check with your council. Yeah there's 240 power via an outside socket kit from B&Q, I just bought more armoured cable and ran its straight in via another socket inside which leads to another. I have led lights going off it. Ded easy and it's only tripped once but that was my fault.
I saw this video before. It's taken 2 days to find it again lol. I'm gonna follow this for my pallet shed. It's the best one I've seen. The only thing I'd like to know is the size of the pallets? Are those 120 x 100? Excellent job bud. Well done!
Thanks mate, it's 3 meters x 5 meters and the height is 1.8 meters if I remember, that's sonits just under regulations so no don't have to apply for planning permission
Hi mate, I'm in the process of building something similar but I'm a bit sceptical, as I'm thinking of building it on top of decking! Do you think that will work? Did you screw your first level of pallets to the base or use brackets? Thanks
I made battons that sat inside the pallet then screwed to the base and the walls. I'm notbure about putting it on decking but if it's solid enough I can't see a problem. Even if you use the decking as the floor which I assume you are.
@@davidstout4826 did you strip pallets down or use them as whole? Which pallets did you use ive got euro pallets. And finally what size screw did you use to put pallets together with Thanks? Thanks again for replies
No I used them while, they were mostly the same size but I had to cut a couple up. The actual thickness it the main thing I think. I had to chop em up a bit around the door to the right but that was it really. I used different sizes for different things tbh mate.
nice build ! could you give a cost breakdown for us ? like were the pallets free? how much was everything else like osb, insulation, roofing, cladding, windows, doors, screws, joists and so on ,thanks would be very helpful
MrSLacKHacKer bloody hell mate, I haven't got time to do that, how much were the screws? Lol, sorry there aren't enough hours in the day... Have a look on screw fix or b&q and price it up. Thanks for watching.
very helpful thanks , I did try pricing it up but its hard to see how much bought materials you used , (crazy you don't know how much you paid for it ?) I know when I built my shed I had a budget before I started .
MrSLacKHacKer sorry mate, I wasn't being rude, it cost around £1700,i know that but I just don't have the time price each individual item. Palleta were £4 each I know that. Osb 11mm are about £13 and 8mm I used for the walls are about a tenner. Best advice I can give is look in reclaim yards roof beams were only £8. Thanks for watching. Good luck.
Thanks mate, I used battons, screwdthem to the floor and screwed the wall pallets to them. It's very very solid. Did the same with the walls basically.
Hi David, great job pal. Im currently planning my man cave at the moment. what waterproof sheeting did you use on the walls and did you not think to use it on the floor prior to placing the osb board down ? Also did you also insulate the ceiling before boarding it over? Thanks
nolan combrink hi well the pallets are off the floor anyway and because the roof overhangs and is fenced in hardly any rain gets in anyway. I used a roofing membrane between the Osb and the cladding. The only think I do need to do is insulate the roof inside and the floor. I have an electric rad in there and it soon warms up though.
Can someone confirm ime building a pallet shed The question is it can only be two and half metres in height near my border in the UK What I was thinking When you are building with pallets does the two and half metres start from the top off the floor pallet or at the bottom of the floor pallet Can someone please confirm this
You need to check with your council mate, in some areas you have to build so far away from the neighbours fence and have a height restriction which is usually from the ground up. From memory mine had to be 2.2 meters high but with no restrictions on haw far from the fence.
@@davidstout4826 thankyou so much mate ile definitely do that I've got the pallets laid and the first wall level laid easily altered if it's too close to the boundary Ime following your plan mate it's perfect.
I didn't mate no, tbh even when it's freezing I don't ge cold feet I put some rubber backed carpet tiles down I got off a site and it's fine. I do need to insulate the ceiling though. When I put my radiator on though it soon warms up and stays warm, 10 minutes in and I'm in a t'shirt
@@davidstout4826 that's sounds awesome, did you use corrugated sheeting on the roof? I'm enjoying my build, Cant spend enough time with work and a young baby as I'd like but be done in a few month, did you plaster inside? Thanks for replys mate
@@magpie_up_a_mountain hi mate I only used 2"x4" and with 3. 5 meter between the front and back wall it was a bit of a risk but the roof hasn't had any movement In three years, I suppose the osb boards have given it a lot of strength.
I did it over the summer a couple of years ago now, just weekends and the odd evening. Probably about 25 to 30 days in all, including taking the old sheds and a tree down and clearing the area.
Hi yeah just wooden slats really or metal on some, it's really strong. Im going to do a follow up video soon 5 years on so everyone can see what it's like now. Just need to sort the inside out as it's a mess lol.
Jee Ell well my brother bought a similar building, slightly bigger and it cost him 7 grand. The roof materials arnt as good, no insulation or electric and its a single skin no membrane etc. Mines cost about £1800.
Gary Lapsley personally I think floors a good idea but if the walls are getting boarded then shiplaped only really saving the price of about 14 7'x3"×2" plus those metal joining plates most probably cost as much as the wood would. So I can't see the use of using them really.
Grrandad Groans I only used a few metal plates, got them from a diy store that was closing down 25p each. Probably a bit of overkill on the walls I agree, just wanted an airtight dry building.
Hi mate, for everything including lights and electrics about £1600. All the stuff I used, cladding roofing etc was top quality, that corrugated bitumen should last 30 years, and the cladding is talanised so you could cut corners and make it cheaper.
Sean Devereux well it's more that I wanted to spend to be honest. But once I got into it I wanted to make it last. My brother bought one, no insulation felt roof no electrics, slightly bigger, £7000
