Love this video. I'm getting started on building a winter shed out of pallets for some goats we're buying. Your video was incredibly helpful. Gave me a bunch of super useful ideas and how to do things. And gave me confidence I can do this without the shed collapsing on itself!

You may want to debark your trees first will last longer and keep insects out of wood that will cause rotting it’s a lot of work but if trees are green should peel easily

I like this cabin/shed. Personally, I would call it a cabin. So many ideas. I would put lots of windows in, especially 1s where u can open them up with screen on the outside. I would also have a micro wood stove 4 heating. Would put a pallet floor down & shore it up, so when u walk on it, it wouldn't have under all the weight. I'd use some of the boards from the pallets 2 lay a floor over the other 1s . Use a composting toilet 4 the bthrm. Camping stove 2 cook on. Solar panels 2 have a smaller fridge & possibly lights...........so many ideas. 2 bad he couldn't come build us 1- that would be so cool, & we'd have r very own home. 🙂

Dude. Safety. Watching you on the shaky ladder with a chainsaw in your hands, scary AF!! You're by yourself, if you get hurt, you're screwed. Be safety conscious. Shed looks great 👍🏻

Nice, a fellow NYer and pallet builder. You may want to look into some of the cheap attachments they sell to make beams and lumber with your chainsaw, actually work pretty good.

Liquid nail is an adhesive, not a crack filler. You probably want silicone caulk to fill the gaps, should you care. Also, if you plan on putting real time into that shed, you need to waterproof the base of it. For example, raise it up on concrete pavers and put a layer of sill seal on them. If left as-is, the bottom boards will rot. The style of roof you're talking about, slanting in one direction, is called a "shed roof". The other style, with a beam high in the center, is called a "gable roof". Your shed is around 10 feet wide, and the drop is around 2 feet, so you have a pitch that's 2.4/12. That's fairly shallow for a snowy environment. Build sturdy, and beware the heavy snow loads. Definitely build this up over the next six months.

I am a journeyman carpenter and I do use pallet wood to make small things. there is nothing wrong with using it. The only thing that you would want to do is replace the drywall screws on the roof as soon as possible. they are not weather resistant and will rust thru in a very short time. The ones I used on my wood fence only lasted a year before the heads started popping off.

I want to do similar, Ill use a timber or concreate base leave full pallets (both sides) then wrap in plastic (both sides) fill the middle with insulation I was going to tin the outside and do strips on the inside but washing yours I may do 3 overlaps on the outside and use it as a insulated room.

Have an amazing rest of your week.. It's pretty incredible what can be created from pallets.

It's cool that you are at least doing something. I'm sure alot of people have criticized you about building it and how you built it but I bet those are the same folks that sit around doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. Can I tell you one thing..when you use any power tools man...either take them gloves off or find a secure spot for them strings hanging out!! My God! When u were using the saw you just bought I was like.. 😮. But hey keel building most people have no idea what a challenge it can be building with pallets.

Ryobi does a 18 gauge nail gun, you could get one of them and it would save you driving into town to keep buying gas for your gas nail gun and also fuel going back of forth. Plus you already have a battery and charger. Ryobi ONE+ 18G AirStrike Nailer is what it is called in England, not sure if it has the same Name in the USA, i don't own one but the reviews all look positive.

1. What about a foundation? what if it pores down hard and that building floods? 2. Read The China Study 3. Make sure the insulation you put in is GREEN, because it can cause illness if it is not. I would go with wool batting. I'm thinking about doing something similar up north and living in a garage/barn. Have to find a water source first. Did you have a well put in?
