It's to bad there was no life left in this poor palm so it did not regenerate new spears. I was there yesterday looking at it. They live quite a few miles south of our place
It's a great idea. Lots of people have done it for years. If there is life left in the trunk then it will force new growth, that's the way it works. Have you watched my video of the Trachycarpus palm in our garden that was cut down with a chainsaw? You should see it now 7 months later, full fronds and looks beautiful
@@palmywtaczanowie Nothing to do with point of view, it is about doing it and seeing results here and seeing others do it. I don't make this stuff up. I have been growing palms for a very long time and some times this works and some times it doesn't
@@BananaJSSI For me, it's better to take care of palms in winter. If problem, it's better to remove rotten central leaves, clear the hole, cure with a fungicide, cover against rain and wait. Cutting the trunk is the last thig to do, it will deform it for ever, especially on big palm trees. Here, people wacht your videos and they start by cutting the trunk. I'm sorry for my english. I grow palms in my garden since 2008
Does not look good at all ! Maybe either not planted right or not watered right . I would have checked the roots by carefully digging it out . ( the saw- butchering as the last resort , please )
Here is one of my videos that you obviously have not seen. This video is from nearly 4 years ago. You should see how big it is now! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4iZiy1EFrRU.html
