I have the gen2 version 18in ss barrel and i absolutely love this rifle bought it almost 3 years ago and never had any type of issue other than buying the pricey .308 brass.
Thanks for the quick review. I just ordered a complete lower and a complete upper - combined under $700 so great price! Hoping it shoots good. I think the probiscis sticking out of the gas block is normal...
@@alexvillela8601 still running the scope mounts taking a beating may have to update, been keeping the bolt clean so firing pin stays free , how is you rak308c doing
I have the PSA PX-10 with 18" stainless barrel. It's slightly smaller and lighter than the PA-10. Those are still listed on the website, but haven't been in stock for couple of years. Don't understand why they haven't continued building these.
Interesting. I wonder if they stopped production or it's just put on the back burner while they keep adding new guns to the lineup. How long have you had the PX-10?
That's why I included that little snippet from the website on my close up shot. I didn't see that until after I had filmed. No idea how to adjust it though.
Have one. Gas block doesn't really do anything for me. Even on lowest setting it ejects at 2 oclock. I have to put a heavier buffer in it and spring to get good ejection. Was shooting sub moa with some 150 gr soft points, but groups have opened up. Need to give it a good cleaning and double check torque on screws and see ifnsomething is loose or dirty.
I haven't messed with the gas block but I also haven't really focused on the ejection pattern in full honesty. I believe it's ejecting at the 2 o'clock position as well. What buffer and spring did you put in it? Overall it sounds like it's been good to you!
@@Northwoods.Nobodies i ended up using a 308 carbine heavy buffer spring from springco. and got a kak carbine buffer which is the normal weight carbine buffer because it's a stainless steel buffer case with lighter weights inside, but the psa buffer is aluminum case with tungsten weights inside, so I just swapped them over and saved like 20-30 bucks. Ejects at 3 o'clock now.
I have a psa-16 (new) it never worked properly, every 2-3 rounds would be a misfire, jam in the tube or double feed, checked mags, buffer spring, never checked the weight on the buffer, ejecting at 1 o’clock . Never bothered to have it repaired, just grabbed my trusty Ruger.
That's a shame and surprising. I've had good luck with the PSA products I have. Do you have any other ARs you could swap the buffer weights with to see if it improves it?
I do have a Psa gen 3 AR 10 chambered is 6.5 creedmoor, and for the money I paid for this rifle, it is really a great rifle and a lot of fun to shoot. It all started out as budget rifle build just for kicks but it really surprised me in the end. And it's been very accurate. And as a budget built rifle, I also added a budget scope the arken sh 4, which also surprised at how well it performed. I absolutely loved my rifle set up.
@Northwoods.Nobodies my longest distance shot has been 800 meters out at Ft Lewis military base in Washington state. I was using underwood ammo. 130 grain control chaos. Once I was able to figure out the windage I had no problem putting rounds on target.
I have the 18 inch myself as far as what I've done with it and I put a muzzle brake on it that they're claim to fame is 74% reduction of recoil I have turned my gas down to the number 7 setting and I put in a silicone heavier spring and a 4 or excuse me a 5.4 Oz buffer to reduce the recoil I have not got a chance yet to shoot it yet
Let me know what you think of it once you shoot it. I need to adjust the gas on this rifle. We shot it in Iowa in some different positions and it seemed to be recoiling more than before.
I love B5 more of a vertical angle. There is no mail spec for AR10 some parts work sone don’t. The gap is where the beaver tail meets the receiver it’s not a huge gap but you can see if you look closely. I put blue loctite on it doubt it walks out.
@@Northwoods.Nobodies forward assist was either assembled improperly or parts failed during operation (interesting day at the range). It took a little less Than a month. Not glacial, but there was little to no communication between steps. I felt like I was dealing with the DMV.
@@kbarbee3212 Interesting, I've never heard of a forward assist failure before. When we sent out the Taurus GX4 for warranty work it was similar. Got the RMA, took 2-3 weeks to get an email saying repair complete, and then it just showed up at my door. No real communication during the process but the pistol was fixed and we were happy.
I don't always catch some of the details in my research before the video and I hadn't closely looked at the gas block until that moment of the video. I could've filmed it again but I like the authenticity of it. I don't know everything and I'll be open and honest about that.
