The part that I loved about that podcast, is when he was talking about ammo. He was saying they couldn’t get ammo to test fire their product. And he said “if we can’t get ammo, I know the American people can’t get ammo. So we bought an ammo plant”. I said to myself, ok, I’ll do everything I can to support this company.
Their ammo is actually very good and affordable too. 10mm hollow points for .50 cents a round cheap. I wouldn’t have half the ammo inventory I have if it wasn’t for PSA
People have no idea. This is the best firearms company for the second amendment period. Anyone that says their products are subpar is on crack. They put all of the profits back into the business and their manufacturing process is incredible. I’ve not seen another manufacturer even close. This paired with direct to consumer makes them the main company every American should support. Can’t wait for that krink!
@@ms6derek 100% agree. You're absolutely right and the people who trash them are clueless. Everyone should be backing PSA fully, they're one of the only ones out there not gouging you and lying to you. They want to make firearms more available and keep them affordable. They want ammo to be in supply. They want to innovate. They don't want to spoonfeed you the same garbage that's been available for decades but keep charging you more and more for it, and they don't want to arm the government.
I bought bulk ammo from Jamin and his wife at local gun shows before they opened PSA. They got kicked out of gun shows because they were cheaper than all the other ammo sellers and people would line up at their table.
@@BlackDiamondGandG but several years ago they went on a huge recruiting drive and hired a lot of people away from FN including the guy that headed up pistol production at FN, he is now over pistols at PSA. They hired multiple QC people as well as some engineers and weapons testers.
I support them in spirit but I’d never run their products. They’re QC is insanely terrible and our lives are worth far more than that. If you "can’t afford” something but are able to "save up” for a rifle, then just wait and save up more and buy actual quality and then stop putting shitty Chinese Amazon parts on it.
So when I was doing some research on the Rock, I found a video where someone ran 1000 rounds through it without cleaning or lube. I was super impressed
@@BlackDiamondGandG There are two things that PSA does that are shady. Firstly, they do not send magazines to capacity limited states. Those firearms are required to be shipped to FFLs and those FFLs must modify the magazines to the limited capacity at the purchaser's expense. Secondly, they often sell firearms manufactured by other companies at MSRP as a sale item. Case in point, CZ Shadow 2 Compact today at $1299 as a sale price when that is MSRP (PSA regular price at $1999). Kudos on their own stuff and ammo but they are not always upstanding.
@octavian1783 #1 How to fix your first problem? Move, you've lost to the commies so take your tax dollars and votes somewhere that doesn't piss on your rights. #2 while psa doesn't have the best prices on everything, they will price match in store purchases. In order to help you with #2, refer back to answer #1
@@octavian1783 The thing is, if they DID send the standard capacity mags to a state that outright bans them, they are now in the crosshairs of state-level legal action against their company, lawsuits that would make Remington blush and the customer that bought the mag is bound to end up with a heavily armed knock at their door. Just because YOU don't agree with that state's regulation doesn't automatically make PSA immune to legal action for shipping banned items to said states... You break a law (regardless of how stupid it may be), you put yourself in a position for legal retaliation from the state who passed it. Sad but true.
@@Blitzkrieg_WolfPSA has to ship to an FFL in that restrictive state. The FFL has to modify them permanently to the limited capacity before transferring. The person to whom the firearm is transferred has to sign a document confirming the magazines they received have been altered to the state capacity limit. Not much legal jeopardy there. Jeopardy is on the FFL if they do not modify the magazines.
As a SC resident and owner of 4 PSA firearms, I am helping the homegrown firearms company which help's the"little guy/gal”who like their product....😃😃😃
I've just gotten to the point that I watch the PSA website for most all my needs... Probably get 75 percent of my stuff from PSA... Totally agree with everything he is saying...
Newer PSA customer. Read all sorts of bad stuff about them and wasn’t until I shot someone’s rifle put together with some PSA parts I bothered to look into them. Read their mission statement and learned their history that screams they truly believe their mission statement. I’ve found I don’t buy anything firearm related without looking to see if PSA sells it. And lately regardless what it is, if PSA sells it that’s where I order it because often times PSA prices are lower than others even being on sale. I have 3 PSA BCG’s that all look well machined, and tested to be just as efficient as my higher end BCG’s. Currently they are spares kept in various different bags just in case.
I still have a box full of PSA lowers.. I have built many of them and they all fit and worked great.. When they were sub $30 delivered, I knew they would prob never be that cheap again so I bought 25 of em..
I like the message. Spreading freedom. And getting addicted to spreading freedom for law abiding citizens,,just amazing. Ohh I got a couple of their products and they ain’t never failed, so 🇺🇸
The way he says the gun talks to him is so accurate. It's legit the truest thing any millionaire business owner could have said. He showed he cares more about the people than the dollar. He's going to make his money but he doesn't have to be shady to do it.
It’s important to recognize that a large reason they can charge lower prices is that they, for the most part, have chosen to manufacture and sell firearms based of existing designs (AR-15, Glock 19, etc.) that have been well tested in the wild. This dramatically reduces their R&D costs compared to companies that are creating new designs. Their profits that are invested into the next designs are also existing designs (AK, AR-10, etc.) that require a little more R&D/tooling/manufacturing/etc. They use this and a stepping stone to then create new designs (Jakl, Rock 5.7, etc). It’s a brilliant business plan when you think about it.
They also cut out external manufacturing costs by making most of the parts themselves and they cut out the middle man by having their own stores/warehouses.
They obviously have low R&D (and QC) costs because even with proven designs, it still takes them two or three generations of a product for it to even be decent.
I watched the whole podcast as soon as it was up. I instantly made up my mind to buy a PSA product, whether I wanted it or not. He hints at the fact that they might produce an M1 Garand in the near future. That would be incredible. A brand new M1 that's not beat to death ( CMP ) for under $800 would sell like crazy.
PSA is a solid company with owners that rock and care about the country and people. Happy to keep doing business with them and will keep it up. The make value diven products which is admirable in this day and age.
He was talking about pre 1986 machine guns, select fire M16's. Before the NFA was capped the select fire guns were only the price of a tax stamp more than semi.
Yeah. That was long before we had many producers of AR-15 parts. That’s primarily why we didn’t get millions of lowers. There was a guy who stamped but didn’t fold a ton of Uzi lowers and serialized them, intentionally produced so many that he could never pay the NFA registration tax. He declared bankruptcy. But they were manufactured on time and with the fees owed the bankruptcy court sold off the blanks to pay off the tax…
PSA. Inexpensive doesn’t mean Cheap. I applaud PSA for planting seeds. But what they are proving is how America became great. We can build it here and make it affordable.
Jamin is a good dude. He genuinely gives a shit about the Second Amendment, the people, and PSA still does its damnedest to provide a quality product at their price point.
Yep, met him once at the Farrow Road location, when it was open as a retail store. Super nice guy! For some reason they had a museum quality model of a T-Rex skull in the warehouse, they invited me to check it out, super cool!!! Also one of thier employees helped name my daughter, thanks Sergio!
They're the ones who cut corners 10 bucks and 15 mins is all it would take to dimple and swell neck rivet their trunnions to recievers but they don't on any of their aks that's not quality they're literally selling you something that will fail eventually the rivets will eventually crack
@@superhashbrom8441 Get out of here with that reddit-tier garbage commentary. You're just parroting speculative trash one guy posted in a nitpicky video that hasn't proven to be an issue at all in any of their AKs. People have been torturing them, burning them down in full auto, and abusing them any way they can think of for years and they've held up just as well or better than their competition.
I bought my PSA compact dagger in parts with the glock upgrades and red dot. I paid about $600 for everything. I think it runs just as good as any Glock. I have maybe 3k rounds through it with no issues. I used to hate Glock, but I understand why they are what they are. I really like my PSA Dagger and plan on building a micro and full-size soon.
When Gaston Glock wanted to sell to the American public his first initial price was just over $100. Then he hired a marketing company and they told him to mark it up.
Unfortunately that’s not just greed. There’s an element of psychology there, if you’re too cheap, no one will buy your product and it’ll get the reputation of being cheap garbage.
@jB-uw8fi No. Look at the Canik pistol line. They use to put out a basic affordable pistol. Now, what use to be a $280 gun is around $400+ depending on the model. Their popularity has risen so they raised the price.
@jB-uw8fi I also want to add that price=quality indoctrination didn't exist till the boomer generation. Prior to that generation most American made products were of good quality and that mentality didn't exist. I know, I was raised by the silent generation and older. Don't defend these marketers who have helped contribute to inflation.
Thats good to hear, cause when i tried them out 3 years ago, the QC sucked ass. But that isnt enough to make me take a chance on them again. Ill stick with companies that have better QC and customer service. I have over 8 AR's with 80% lowers that i milled with aero lower parts kit, timney triggers and aero uppers with bcm bcg's. Not a single quality issue.
@@FuckRU-vidCensorship2024didn't read the comment where it said QC is improving before complaining about what happened three years ago (mf just forgot about COVID). Doesn't specify why he thinks QC was bad, doesn't mention customer service either. Thinks putting Timney in his "Over 8" ARs means anything more than "I'm spending money on a name" when Larue triggers exist. "Over 8 ARs" because remembering how many you have or counting them is difficult. You're a clown caught up in the circus my dude.
I met Jamin at a LE shooting competition back in 2010 or 2011. He told me about building an AR, something I had no idea I could do. I hounded them for months after PSA’s little shop opened here in Columbia SC. I’m proud to say I have one of the first PSA lowers (sub #20). I’ve since gone on to even do advertising for PSA in 2016 where I was on billboards all across the nation.
On the internet and social media PSA gets hated on…. In real life from people who’ve actually bought and used PSA products very rarely does anyone have anything bad to say. Everyone I know have enjoyed their company and products. The AKV is a beast.
Love this company, got two stores in my backyard. Own lots of their guns and looking to buy many more. They are working on soooo much cool stuff, its crazy. And they care about the customers and 2nd A. When you invest 160 million into making ammo, because they couldn't get "test ammo", that is true dedication. Love it.
after watching this video I will spread the word to guys I know that palmetto state armory is a company they should buy from. they are patriotic Americans like me.
I love PSA. I daily carry their full-size Dagger with the SW5 slide, and I also have a 11.5-inch AR from them as well. Both run like "High End" firearms, and both guns together cost me less than or around $1000 at the time of purchase.
I don't own a psa, and i have been relatively skeptical of them. Based on this interview, this company deserves the full backing and support of the fiream community.
Awesome content! TRUTH! PSA is leading the industry right now. Also, if we get more people to own the firearms, then it's less likely the government can ban them or regulate them because they are in "common use."
PSA is the reason I was able to get into the AR 15 platform. I’m a vet on a budget, raising a family and I have multiple psa lowers that I’ve built out !! I’ll forever spend my money with a company like this !!
The fact that they came out with like a dozen prototypes/concept guns, then had the community vote on what to prioritize. That should tell you everything you need to know about this company.
I bought a PSA AR10 'BLEM' lower and a 'BLEM' .308 upper and had a full AR10 for under $600 and it shoots great. Looked but couldn't figure out what the 'BLEM' was on either piece..... What's not to love??@@mobilegamersunite
I own a Dagger, and every lower I’ve ever owned came from PSA. I’ve had zero issues with any of their products. I recommend first time buyers to PSA always!!
I have two PSA AR builds and love them!!! A 10.5" Pistol I bought complete and 16" Rifle I put together with one of their Stealth Lowers. On my first range day, the Pistol stopped ejecting rounds after about two mags. I called PSA, they arranged for it to be returned and in less than 10 days I had it back, running without another issue. Have put over 500 rounds through it since and not a hiccup.
I own and run several PSA guns and have been very pleased with their reliability and performance, not to mention price point, which is why I recommend them to a lot of people. The money saved on the gun can be applied to optics, lights, or other accessories. Happy to support a company that supports the people.
I think, if I remember correctly, in that interview it was stated that PSA is cranking out 2000 uppers a day. Man, what a great company and what a great interview!
Ok, that means nothing if they arent doing better QC checks. Hopefully they stopped sending out damaged lowers or lowers with missing parts, clearance issues, or barrels not timed and torqued.
I think this is a good new segment for your channel. I wouldnt have seen this clip/interview otherwise. definately do more imntersting commentary like this, i think it a winner.
SC native. I’m just old enough to remember when the first PSA retail location was still a bass pro shop. Love PSA, they’re my FFL/indoor range. Own 4 PSA AKM and the ak-v is currently my favorite personal firearm.
I was stationed in Beaufort for a number or years Spent a lot of time in their storefront south of town Couldn’t believe how big the one in Charlestown was when they opened it
I acn buy any gun, I am a PSA only guy, they do everything with lifetime warranty and the BLEM is 479 in perfect working condition, the more we buy they more they can make and the more in circulation so this will keep us free.
Great video I will say he was spot on and I’m happy he said what needs to be said. I have plenty from PSA and never had an issue. Yes i have more High end stuff Yes I upgraded parts but I can run with the guys who have 2,$$$ ones.
I want a guy like this to make money because he will continue to promote entry into the #2A! I have PSA weapons and I love the PSA store at Myrtle Beach, SC! Awesome!
I have a PSA, built it myself; fires great! thousands rounds and does what I need it to. I ain't running nor competition, just having fun and ready to defend if ever needed.
I started out with a very basic PSA AR, flip up irons, then after awhile added a red dot and now moved on to bigger and better things. If I could do it over again would have done the same thing. It was extremely reliable, obviously it’s an AR so keep it cleaned and oiled before you make a judgement. And great to learn with a basic setup, helps massively when you move on to better equipment
I've built quite a few guns, ARs and handguns alike. My experience is you have to decide where in a build is worth your money. To me, the reciever is just the skin, as long as it doesn't crack, and the internals are where I choose the invest the dollars for quality. You need a good barrel and bcg and a reliable trigger. That's where the quality should be invested and in your trigger. I've never used a polymer receiver outside of handguns, but I heard polymer receivers can be very problematic. PSA receivers have never caused me any problems. Neither have Anderson. I also am casual shooter and don't anticipate working my guns at a hardcore mercenary's capacity. For what most citizens do with their ARs, binge shoot and then leave the thing on a shelf or in a case until it's time visit the range or take a class again, PSA and Anderson are more than sufficient. Everybody is not Garand Thumb or T. Rex arms dude, mag dumping a barrel-full of ammo a week.
Just built my first M4 Carbine with a PSA kit- absolutely love it and am already planning my next AR based build. 50 bucks for a lower and 379 for a complete upper with parts kit to complete the rifle. Excellent for the price and the lnitial quality seems flawless
I love PSA, they are the FIRST place I check for almost everything. I built my first MSR with mostly PSA components. I have a PSA AR10 in 308, never an issue, over 500 rounds through it, took 2 deer with it in this beautiful state of Texas this passed season. So, I absolutely trust PSA and there products 100%. Big THANKS to Palmetto State Armory and looking forward to their new Sabre bolt gun later this year.
Very good to hear that they are a private company. I always browse their website even if its just to see what's new or what type of packages are available. This solidifies me as a customer for them.
I bought a PSA 16' Freedom complete upper for like $350 back in '18. I've haven't fired a thousand rounds through it yet. And it's been flawless. That being said I couldn't be happier with what I got for my money.
The thing…is that I subscribed to PSA when I wanted to get a PSA AK (and I did) but I ended up buying a lot more other brands cause the prices were insanely low. H&K, Glock, free shipping ammo, flamethrower, not PSA brand - they do sell everything at a great price.
PSA has the advantage of owning and controlling almost every manufacturing process involved in making their parts. Like he said everything except stampings and polymer injection molding. PSA also sells direct to consumer and therefore removes the distributor’s cut. He had to make his fortune to be able to own and control all of those facets of the company. I believe he is passionate about those values that he stated in the video, but I’m pretty sure that he is making a pretty penny still, he is just re-investing alot of it back into the company which is just raising the value of the company he owns, so its not like he isnt making money.
I bought a dagger frame a few weeks ago, just waiting for the slide to drop in price. Also have a rifle that is a PSA rifle kit from 2012. Never had any issues that were caused by factory ammo. Have had issues with neck tension on reloads but swap the dies to Hornady from Lee, no issues since.
No! He is talking about the 1986 ban on new "machine guns" for public sale. The federal government calls an M-16 a machine gun because the federal government changes definitions to fit its civilian disarmament agenda. No military would call an M-16 a machine gun. It is actually an assault rifle, not to be confused with the made-up term "assault weapon". When he says "register", he is talking about registering under the National Firearms Act (NFA). That would be the $200 tax stamp. That needs to be challenged in court because the U.S. Supreme Court has already ruled that it is unconstitutional to tax a constitutionally protected right, and keeping and bearing arms is a constitutionally protected right. As a matter of fact, the U.S. Supreme Court has said that the right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental right.
Great guys! I met Jamin at the Farrow Road location when they were using it as a retail store. They invited me into the warehouse to check out a museum quality model of a T-Rex skull, why it was there idk. Was it awesome? Heck yeah! Also one of thier employees helped name my daughter, thanks Sergio!!!
I live in MB,SC and have a friend whom I worked with for 20 years. After retiring, he went to work for the new PSA store. He says that it is an awesome company to work for and has met Jamin personally.
😢 Spreading Freedom for 500 bucks or less! Let's all spread some Freedom and buy some of this stuff. My niece and I want to build an AR on a budget. This is a great starting point.
I love PSA, got my micro dagger Thursday took it to the range and only had the cheapest steel cased 115 grain, she ran 300 rounds perfectly my dagger compact runs great too as well as my PSA ar15
It's just the materials to make said products that are holding them back from that I believe. If they get into the optics market though I will never have money lol.
I've ben an avid PSA customer for a long time, mostly AR parts and ammo of course, but I'm still flabbergasted that PSA can sell what they do and make a profit. But I respect the hell out of the guy and their principles. My last buy was their Rock 5.7 (piecemealed for my preference combo of parts and a buttload of mags) as a cheap way to try a new-to-me caliber. Like most folks who've been into firearms for awhile, I have a spectrum of quality, but the stuff PSA produces is the ideal level where it shoots well, but you won't be financially ruined if you have to use it in a defense scenario and it disappears into the system forever after. And the enjoyment of kitting something out to personal taste is part of the appeal where with PSA, you don't have to sell body parts to quench the, dare I say, addiction. 😁
I think I will buy every future 2nd amendment item from PSA. Just bought a micro dagger, and dagger frame. I wish them well. I hope they expand to my area.
I hear this guy talking and I get emotional. Being born in Puerto Rico, and btw, Puerto Rico IS America, and not being able to get a weapon to defend myself, to then enlisting in the Army 14 years ago and really understand that I have a second amendment my God given right. Hearing this gentleman explain the way he runs PSA just makes me proud to be American. I own multiple products from them and this is one of the companies that I will keep supporting no matter what.
What he’s saying about getting new people into the hobby is 100% correct, when I was first looking at an ar15 and had no idea what to look for the guns I was looking at were around $800-1000. Even though I could’ve spent that much I didn’t really want to. After finding out about PSA through a coworker of mine I ended buying a stripped lower, parts kit, and an upper all for under $600. And in building it I discovered a new passion for building guns. I’m currently building a second. And after listening to the full interview I will definitely be doing more business with them in the future.
I've been screaming this for years. Gun enthusiasts are getting absolutely squeezed by this false marketing of "quality." Paying $2500 for an AR. $2-5k for a 1911. $1k for a polymer striker gun. Absolute insanity. PSA is doing it right and you should be supporting them.

The facts are they DO cut corners! In the assembly area. They skip dimpling barrels, specifically on the FN premium barrels. Their excuse for it is that “they’re not dimpled when they get them from FN.” They don’t properly rivet AK’s with counter sink rivets in the places they’re supposed to be. They market they’re AAC ammo as “5.56” and don’t use sealant on any of it. Not even the “defensive” specific loads like the 70gr. TSX. And their buffer springs they put in kits ect. come out the box at replacement length. There stuff is sporting tier out of the box. If they cinched up those few corners, then and only then could they truly be considered the “Peoples Armory.” Until then they’re just putting out sporting goods.
You are referring to a very small percentage of guns that need to be sent back. ALL manufacturers have QC problems. This is not a unique or widespread problem and you would know this if you purchased one instead of listening to bs on the internet and then regurgitating it on this vid post. Posting lies about PSA like some do doesn’t make you look smart it makes you look ignorant. I have close to 25 guns from PSA (I also have many others from other manufacturers) and not once has there been an issue. I also shoot regularly at a range just off my back yard.
