Just ordered this in nutmeg today with the cheese grater installed. Love me some combloc but your right about all the hate from the OG collectors. I bought a VSKA about a year ago and despite having 0 issues with it (yet🤞) I can't bring it up without being mobbed with hate 😂
I just saw this video. I just got my gf5 Saturday. I wanted one with the redwood furniture and a cheese grater. The one that I got has redwood, cheese grater and a folding butt stock. Also, I could not pass up on this deal that I got. So, I bought it. I never shot an AK before. I just shot my century arms AK today. It does not kick as bad as I thought it would. I will go next weekend and shot my PSA AK.
Your whole comment was right on, and there are a lot of asshole haters for whatever reason. I've owned a g5 for almost a year now, and put Atlantic Firearms red AK wood furniture on it. I have a little over 2,0000 rnds through it, only 2 issues when it was a few days old, lite strikes, not one issue in all the rounds through it . Enjoy your gun.
Thanks for the informative video. Helped solidify my faith in PSA. Question, do you think the ALG trigger needs to be "rounded" on a new out of the box GF5-R? I've heard people say the ALG trigger hammer is very hard and can cause undue wear on the bolt carrier over time. How has yours held up? I'm asking because I have a GF5-R on the way and want to have an idea of what to expect.
A very nice rifle. I regrettably sold my gf5 to replace it with something a little more practical and tactical. Replaced it with Ak-p. Got a folding brace for it. Now im a little more mobile with it and only lost 200fps with the 10.5" barrel. Nice rifle. Good vid
The metal stocks bash your face. If you get one, put a good compensator and recoil buffer on it. It's not bad on slow fire, but if you are dumping a mag, you will notice it. I have an Ace Galil type folder on my GF3, and I wrapped it with some foam pipe insulation. As a general preventative measure, I replaced the firing pin with a stainless one from AK parts. I love mine. Very accurate with good ammo. I like the Magpul Zhukov folding stock. Not only does it fold, it also is adjustable for length. I also like Magpul's M-Lok forend. I put them on all my AK'S. I like the option of mounting a light up front, and they don't snag like railed forends do.
