I bought a 10 pack of these for $20 shipped a few months before many vendors stopped carrying them. Love this soap!

The Palmolive stick is fast becoming my favourite soap. Lovely smell, super foam and great slickness. Cheap & convenient little product. Yes I agree too, stick application super convenient & gives a great shave.

I use them and for the last 25 years have used Wilkinson Sword blades which are great too . And my dads old 1965 black handled Gillette safety razor. It’s what I like and it’s effective . After shave I love the curve chill after shave and of course old school pinaud . Watched all your videos ... great 👍🏼 stuff .

I like the arko shave stick. I am new to the wet side of shaving and also the DE safety razor side but I already notice I prefer shave sticks to anything else. I guess, to me, it's the best combination of convenience, cost and quality shave

Glad to see some interest in sticks. Anyone considering foil/plastic wrapped stick for travel or home, I highly recommend a twist-up tube container sold at West Coast Shaving. You can slice up a stick of Arko or Palmolive like a banana and stuff it in there piece by piece. Makes the whole process less messy and clunky if/when you're shaving on the road. And you can cut out the Arko label and glue it to the twist up stick. :-)

You definitely have one of the best techniques that I've seen on youtube. Having been a DE shaver for 10 years now, I can definitely see when people are doing it wrong and when they're doing it right. Good job Nick.

Have been useing the Polmolive Stick and Cream for years. I found that by chopping up the Stick and putting it into a soap bowl I could Control the lather a lot better than by rubbing it directly on my beard. Any blow with a lid will do like one of those take-away sallad plastic containers from the resteraunt. The lid keeps your soap from drying out. Happy Shaving.

Dear Nick, Thank you for your inspiring videos, they definitely helped me improve my shaving skills. The palmolive soap was the first shaving soap I've ever used and it did a great job. Unfortunately I don't like sticks so much, otherwise it would be my favourite soap. So I use the french monsavon, which is cheap, has a good performance and has this classic tallow smell. Typical eurostuff. When you're in classic euro shaving products I really suggest you the swiss pitralon after shave. It is a classic after shave with alcohol, but behaves like a balm. Very nice after a rough shave.

I love the Palmolive stick. It makes a good lather and leaves my skin flexible as opposed to Cella. It's cheap and very widely available over here in Belgium. I load up my brush with the stick and bowl lather. Palmolive have a similar shaving cream which is very nice too. Definitely worth trying ;-)

Great video Nick. I love palmolive shave soap. Over here in the UK it's only 50 pence a stick which is great value. I like to grate the sticks into a bowl and face lather with a brush. The lather is amazing, so think and protective, it's definitely in my top 3 soaps 😃

Thanks for this: I just switched to DE and bought a palmolive before knowing how to use it, watched this video, copied method and had my best shave ever. I don't like the tallowy smell, but sheesh the shave was better than when i used aerosol foam. It's still quicker than craptridges even with the lather time.

I'd my best shave yet after about 6 weeks. I used the Palmolive stick (which I moulded into a shave bowl) and the Parker 26C, the cheapest DE razor I've bought, open comb and it gave me the closest shave with a Gillette 7 O'Clock green blade. It's a gorgeous razor too. The other razors I have are Merkur 34c and Muhle ?R41 open comb which hasn't been as smooth or forgiving, with the Merkur just too mild for me. I will go back to them in the future as this may change as I'm more accustomed to DE shaving. Please do review the Parker 26C Nick!!

Dig the explanation on the Havana tobacco scent. Also I thought about the slant and you've convinced me but I think I'm going to get the iKon B1. Now you have me wondering about the Palmolive too. First the razor. Great video as always! Great shave!

Palmolive shave stick is excellent product , I haven't tried the Palmolive shave cream yet. I buy my Palmolive shave stick in the UK for only 50 pence and in a shop called (Boyes) I can buy the Palmolive shave cream for a really cheap price for only £1.49.

Great series Nick. I've enjoyed every one. I have both the iKon Shavecraft slant and the iKon B1 slant. Between the two I prefer the Shavecraft to the B1. The B1 just seems too harsh/aggressive for me and leaves me with quite a burn when I (try to) achieve the same shave as the SC. I use the iKon bulldog handle as the tuckaway just seems to small and light for me. It's my top razor of my small collection of 6 pieces, well right now....

Yeah, I bought a Semogue 830 and a 620 way back at the beginning and if I knew then what I know now I would definitely have went against the faux badger look. Some people do look down on boar brushes but my 830 is more than a match for almost all of my badger brushes.

Funny enough I am on the same venture as you..I committed to shaving everyday and I am on day 22....got you beat by four days :P...keep the videos going...how does the Barberry Coast Havana feel hours later? Looking for a balm to replace my face lotion to keep things "shave" related in my arsenal...just haven't found a balm that lasts as far as hydration all day like a true face lotion does...

Nick, I enjoy watching your videos and your last several videos using the slant inspired me to get a Merkur Slant. I normally use an R41 which I love. I noticed the slant was much smoother and comfortable, but I have to actually use more pressure to get as close a shave as the R41. As comfortable as it is I can't seem to get as close. I've tried finding a better shave angle but nothing seems to work except more pressure. Interestingly, I'm not getting nicked or cut despite applying pressure. I'm confused as to why my experience is so different from everything I've read. Do you have any insight? Thanks, Robert

Hello Nick, Just happened to stumble upon this video and noticed you have a series of these "How To" shaving videos. I think I'm going to subscribe to you forum and educate myself on this method of shaving. I have used safety razors years ago and was always nicking myself. Perhaps it was the blade I was using, the wrong soap/shaving cream, the technique, etc. To be honest, I never had any one to teach me the proper way to shave. In addition, do you know where I can purchase the Palmolive Shaving Stick, a good shaving brush, and other shaving equipment. Thanks for posting these videos. I will try and watch as many of your posted videos as I can. Also, good luck in getting your medical degree! By any chance, are you going into the dermatology field as by watching your videos, you would make a good dermatologist. John

Paul O In my opinion, based on what i have tried so far, Palmolive>Tabac>Speick>Arko>La Toja>Lea. But, gonna be honest, Palmolive, Tabac, Speick, Arko, all give me great shaves. I rated them this way simply based on the scent. I love Palmolive scent, it's a mild, minty/herbal scent that i just love. La Toja and Lea do not work for me, as i'm getting a little irritation. I also don't like their scents too much.

How do you store the stick after you've opened it?
@byrnedes
@byrnedes 4 года назад
M Buchanan After use, I make sure it’s free of foam with a quick gentle rub of the towel if necessary. Then I let it dry and pop it back into its box. The cardboard box can crumple a bit if you’re travelling so I reinforce it a little with cello tape along the bottom edges. Perfect little product & ideal for travel.
