Paloma channeling Grace's confidence because she doesn't feel confident herself is interesting as Grace Jones herself often felt nervous before gigs...just shows what a supreme performer she was (and still is).
Nope, you Americans have obviously fallen for her shit. She fakes quirkyness in a vain attempt to appear interesting. Spends more time making commercials to sell cars over here than making music. Hmm? now I'm thinking about it that's a good thing 🤣 The woman's full of the brown stuff.
When she first held At Last by Etta James, she had my curiosity. When she mentioned she owned the record player from A Clockwork Orange, she had my attention.
She's so intelligent, not in the conventional sense. You can tell she has an incredible appreciation and attention to iconography. She wanted to be a film director and I have feeling she would have been amazing. So much talent and really lovely. Goes to show that appearances don't count for anything.
+Isaac J. Dean Awesome! He's a great director. You might also want to check out "In The Mood for Love." Actually "Happy Together" and Chungking Express" are also really good.
The more I learn about this woman the more I am just impressed about everything about her. Talented, witty, charming and genuine - not to mention pretty and quite funny!!
A decadent, elegant, and monolithic taste! So vast and eccentric my admiration goes out to you. If you come to the Los Angeles area again let me show you the average life of a soulful American. I love the movie Won did of the affair too. Timeless. I wish you and your band ALL the BEST!
not "still huge" the old classics are no more popular in Britain than here they just had a resurgence of new soul artists because of folks looking for a "new" sound
I consider myself well versed in music but have never heard of most musicians you have on this channel. Guess im not a hipster. Still interesting though👍🏻
Is she getting started listening to music a bit late, or...? I feel like all her choices are some of those a person "discovers" at around 18 - classics - you know? I realize she's new to buying vinyl, but not knowing "I'm Every Woman"?! Better late than not at all, however! 👯
+Noelle Pritchard Barkley There's a difference between knowing a song and knowing the lyrics well enough to sing them in front of 40,000 people at the spur of the moment. Her choices are all music she's been listening to since childhood.
+Jay Harper I'm American and I rather like the way she talks . To each their own I guess . Neither of us is right and neither of us is wrong . It just is what it is and that's how it should be.
would anyone like to invest in a kick ass peanut farm? hit me up. you need to be passionate about nuts. nuts are it. hopefully I haven't offended any raisins out there.
Wow , she didn't buy even one piece of vinyl by a caucasian artist. White guilt , trying to be cool and trendy ? BTW before anyone points that R word in my direction I've been married to a black woman for 23 years , I have played black music with black musicians since I was 15 , I play guitar and have a large repertoire of Grant Green , Kenny Burrell , Wes Montgomery but I also love Django Reinhardt , the Beatles , Amy Winehouse , Paloma Faith , etc. Hmmm , should that have been more than one sentence ? Sue me !
