You must be lying. You never got stuck on a heavy log underwater or in a tree? That’s Lucky. Because no matter what line or know you have, if you get stuck on something extremely heavy then your line is finito.

Inlrogetd clinch knot us pretty easy too. The uni knot is good to once you get it down and not that hard, a little more to it, but not bad.

I use braided main line. I use flourocarbon leader usually.

I need to learn the uni. I can tie the Palomar knot but I don’t think it can be used to tie on a leader line.

Have you played that weird Jelly Bean game where there are gross Jelly Beans mixed in with good ones? Apparently gross ones have flavors like skunk, fish, etc. My nieces played the game.

Glad to help. Line usually fails before this knot will.

Not absolutely necessary with this knot, but wetting most knots keeps friction heat from degrading the line material as you tighten. It rarely hurts to do, but can hurt when you don't do it. Some knots were designed to be tied really fast and not need wetting. Unless I'm concerned about speed in tying the knot I wet it as I tighten.

Has held up to more than that for me. Line often breaks before the knot will.

Double uni is for line to line tho

Hook passes through the created loop once. Then lubricate and slowly cinch down knot.

They work for circle hooks but you are correct that the optimal knot for circle hook is one that allows hook rotation. Our other knots like snell or loop class knots allow hook to rotate and grab better. I find this is especially important with monofilament or stiff fluorocarbon. With braid it seems to be less of an issue. With braid Palomar knots and circle hook I don’t feel I miss hooksets.

It is pretty darn clear even with RU-vid’s overlays that we as creators can’t control. We edit these videos with the overlays in mind. Maybe you have a phone or device that is significantly different than the masses. 🤷‍♂️
