They really should have kept this scene in the movie. It really shows how Palp constantly trying to control and manipulate Anakin into turning to the Dark Side, while showing that Anakin is still trying to have a belief Jedi's way.

There’s lots of scenes that should have left in the film but unfortunately if we want to watch them we have to go to the bonus discs

Parts of this scene is in the movie; just not all of it. No one wanted political jargon in a Star Wars movie.
