Better for them to be a bit underrated honestly. To live a content and happy life, most pet pigs reguire maintenance and space, that most households just couldn't give them. There was a boom at one point, where pet pigs were viewed as a fashionable and as one would expect, lot of people got themselves a pig without looking into what it actually takes to keep one, or even how big they would eventually grow, with predictably disastrous results. Breaks my heart just a bit to think about it.

I don't know about the pot belly pigs some of those I heard are the same way. If you have a hobby farm no reason not to have pigs for pets may not turn out like this video all I'm saying.

I have a pig. They are NOT like dogs. They are destructive, stubborn, and scream at louder decibels than a jet engine. They must have special vets, regular hoof and tusk trims. They must have access to the outside and proper housing. They get big! They need a special diet. If not neutered they will stink and become very aggressive.

Not all pigs are affectionate when they get older want to find one that is bread for pets. Some just like being outside friend rescued some meat industry pigs they got really big when they were young they loved people once they got older they come to you if you had food. They just wanted to do their own thing maybe people are like that too somewhat.

Dont be foolish Barbie baby...... PIGS ARE FOR EATING.....PERIOD ! Stick with dogs and cats . Less maintenance, easier and less expensive vet care , just all around easier to deal with . They might be cute when they are small, but they suck when they get older.

Robert Curcio i mean if you can still stomach pork after learning about how much they go through while still alive and then how gruesome their death in the slaughterhouse is, that’s up to you. but please just do your research. you deserve to know what you’re putting into your body because even if you’re ok with killing an animal for the taste, it may be damaging your body more than you know. instead of mindlessly eating meat, you should seriously consider what it is, where it’s from and what happened for it to get on you plate. i know that making fun of vegans and commenting things like “i ate bacon while watching this” will forever be hilarious to some, but you really must realise that when you buy that bacon you are paying someone else to murder an animal. although you think grown pigs “suck”, that doesn’t give you the right to kill them. in fact, pigs are said to be more intelligent than dogs. (sorry this is so long, i really just wish people were more informed before justifying the slaughter of animals)

Robert Curcio of course people are entitled to their own opinions and having conversations are so important these days but on that note i just want to add that killing plants is *not* the same thing as killing animals. plants cannot feel pain, don’t have blood, internal organs, a face, sense of smell, taste, sight, hearing or touch and are nowhere near as intelligent as animals. the comparison just isn’t a fair one. also we nowadays don’t need to depend on meat. our brain thrives off glucose and fructose. these things come from carbs, fruits and vegetables. at one point in evolution we did start eating meat but where we are right now, eating meat, especially in an unhealthy, unbalanced way, is proving to be doing a lot more harm than good. just so long as your diet consists of *mostly* fruits, vegetables and carbs you should lead a healthy life

hopefully new advancements in the food industry and technology and a general conscious population can make the unnecessary suffering of these highly intelligent animals fade away.

Pigs, lika any intelligent animal have personalities. Our pet pig war 22 when she died and during those 22 years she was clean, calm and never destroyed anything but our hearts when she died. She knew her name, she did more tricks than our dogs and she learned new tricks right away.
