What happened to Pan American World Airways's fleet? Through a lot of research, I was able to find several aircraft that once served the World's Most Experienced Airline.
Thank you to the Pan Am Museum for their assistance and for pointing out a couple of airplanes that I missed!
For more information on Pan Am, please check out the @PanAmMuseum RU-vid page or visit the Pan Am Museum at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in New York.
@panamhistoricalfoundation1713 is another fantastic resource to check out!

The Boeing 727-100 one in Smyrna Tennessee. I actually saw a bit of 727s that were sitting there in rough shape at the Smyrna air show back in June 2023.

Plane Tags has got ahold of it now and scrapped, err “preserved” it. Just in the last few weeks. You can buy pieces on their website now.

I believe N727AH is currently parked up at my local airport in Chino, California. It’s been there for an extremely long time.

Oh wow I might have missed that one. I do know that the 727 in Smyrna "Clipper Troubadore" was just cut up and turned into plane tags.

Fun fact: N7477S is currently for sale as a private 747sp

That is sad. Hopefully someone picks it up but the SPs are getting pretty thin.

I flew Pan Am all over until they went "tango uniform" in 91. I never ever remember them having a Fokker 100, even as a PA Express aircraft.

Thank you very much! I have to thank the Pan Am Museum for their assistance and pointing out a few that I missed. I hope some of them can be saved. That 707 in China really needs preserved.

I was not really sure how well it would go but a lot of people seemed to like it so I think I will make a series out of it!

No survive unfortunately. There was at least one that was intentionally sunk when they were done with them. I think there is a replica out there but I am not sure.

N893PA. That plane, or even just its interior, needs to be saved. We're talking about the last Pan Am 707 with the original interior still intact. This is the plane that put jet age into the mainstream. This is the airline that taught the world to fly and is the world's most experienced airline. If only that plane can like borrow the engines from N870PA or some other 707. But then again, someone would somehow have to convince the Chinese government/authorities, which i highly doubt they'd say "of course you can have it :)"
@NickFliesMedia
@NickFliesMedia 5 месяцев назад
I 100% agree. I think it is almost criminal that someone like the Smithsonian did not preserve a 707 or 747 in Pan Am colors. What Pan Am did for commercial aviation, and what the 707 means as well cannot be understated. I really hope that someone preserves that plane.

@@NickFliesMedia Now that you brought up the 747, is only there was a way to restore N747GE in Pan Am colours, then have the one guy who has the Pan Am experience 747 interior donate his cabin to that plane. Only in a perfect world

@@airaero5473 it would be amazing. I’ve heard either that one or N747NA (Sofia) still has the original Pan Am interior. There was a movement in the Pan Am Historical Society to try to get 1 wide of the GE plane painted in Pan Am colors but the museum said that due to the cost of paint and GE’s donation that they’ll keep it in the livery. Maybe someday. There are a few other former PAA 747s out there. It would nice if one of those got painted in PAA colors someday. Unfortunately we’ve lost a couple the past couple of years. I’ve heard the Air Force One experience 747 was former PAA and was scrapped post COVID and the Sands 747SP that got scrapped after getting damaged in a hurricane was a former PAA aircraft

N811PA is derelict at Fujairah International Airport. N6521C is on display in Cali, Columbia. N400UA is stored at Fairbanks Airport. N86520 is currently stored at Le Bourget Airport

I will update this section if I find more surviving Pan Am aircraft. Not sure if you used this source, but it documents EVERY PLANE THAT HAS EVER BEEN DELIVERED NEW TO PAN AM. No offense, but I don't count some of the planes in the vid as they have orginally operated for other airlines. www.panam.org/images/HistoryResourcesMuseumLinks/Pan-Am-Clipper-Manufacturer.pdf

@@NickFliesMedia Update: I tried to search up how many Braniff planes survive today, but a good portion of their fleet hasn't been well documented and the ones that are confirmed to still exist today are so far and few between.

@@airaero5473 that would be a good airline to do a video on soon! I was trying to find your Pan Am comment but for some reason it wasn’t showing up on the RU-vid dashboard on the desktop. I promise I wouldn’t delete it! Nice job finding those additional aircraft! Could you send me any photos if you have them? We could do an update.
