Kron did insanely well against a MUCH bigger Buchecha. Congrats to Buchecha, my favorite grappler, but give Kron credit! A LOT of credit

Amazing how Kron recovered in the 23rd sec and came up for the sweep. Both of them are Beast!

Krons was dominating buchecha from the moment it started. Buchucha is supposed to be the best open weight and heavyweight in the world. He pretty much got schooled by a 170lb kron gracie. This match made me a kron gracie fan. Kron was hitting his peak and then switched to mma. He wouldve done great things in bjj tournaments.
@crocfixio

aper422 yeah agreed..kron fought like a boss most of the fight..buchecha is far more superior physically and that's hard to beat..definitely the worlds best brown belt though..

+aper422 you are a moron, it is always tricky to fight a small guy when you are big, buchecha won when he stepped up his game
@vincespell
@vincespell 8 лет назад
+aper422 Kron was mentally washed with the tournaments. That's why he moved on to MMA. Kron had failed to win The World Championship losing out to Sergio and a few others for the title. Kron was washed. Oh don't get me wrong physically he had more than enough to win but mentally he hasn't been the same since Sergio submitted him. Kron was on a roll, he had submitted over 22 opponents straight from Brown belt to his black and then he lost to Sergio

I can only imagine what might be the feeling for a 77kg guy to win a +100kg very strong dude with extreme knowledge of the soft art. But in my opinion with the evolution of jiu-jitsu the open weight should be finished. Just not fair. BJJ when created by Hélio Gracie was basically to make it possible for the small guy beat the bigger guy. Technique over strentgh. But when the bigger guy learn BJJ too? And get the same jiu-jitsu level as the small guy? The fight just showed the result.

Very nice that's true. From a competiton stand point. It goes a little deaper even. Aikido was created by a Judo Master yes, but Morihei Ueshiba was also a Kendo Master and a practitioner of other styles Tenjin Shinyo-ryu, Yagyū Shingan-ryū, Yagyū Shinkage-ryū, Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu, so I think Aikido truly is its own art. It was created by a person who reached such heights, it would be inaccurate to say it just came from Judo.

Kron's Jiu-Jitsu was definitely the better. However the bigger guy and constant leg attacks to save him gives Almeaida the win. I know leg is the new thing and still jiu-jitsu but god is it boring to watch and seems like not always the better guy wins. Its like going for a haymaker in boxing if you land it and get the ko you win, where if you just boxed you'd get whooped. just my 2cents

Kano's Judo being a 'sport' version of JJ is quite inaccurate. In accounts of Judo birth, Kano and Mifune stress the 'do' part, which is a mix of philosophy and lifestyle, as opposed to 'jutsu', which is skill or art. Kano clearly states he wanted to reintroduce JJ (which was almost abandoned at the time) as a way to self improvement and realization. While he developed (1899) rules for JJ fights, he said the purpose of the fight is not victory, but truth. Points, rules, all came much later.

Jiu Jitsu is the style a Bushido or Samurai would resort to if he was dearmed or lost his weapon he would instantly close the distance and wrestle his adversary. So traditionally it was only a portion of your training to be considered Samurai. using your bare hands to choke or submit then kill your opponent. Sport Jiu Jitsu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are off shoots that have evolved into there own exotic style. Coming from Japan to Brazil by missionaries. Awesome post- -CYCHaggard88-

@onelongwordable bullshit. There is no martial art that can equip you to deal with 4 guys stomping you into the ground, I don't care who you are. Literally the smartest thing to do is A, not put yourself in bad situations. B if you're thrust into one, run like hell. c if you can't hide then fight dirty, but the odds are still stacked against you and Will probably end badly for you. And you are a joke if you're telling me you can learn combat from youtube. that's a silly fantasy world.
