Quick rule of thumb with sesame oil: light in color is good for cooking. Dark is toasted sesame oil, which is better for flavor and aroma at the end of the cook
Sesame oil is not an oil that is generally cooked. It’s usually used as a flavor additive oil usually added at the very end or close to the end of the cooking phase: it tends to lose almost all of its flavor when cooked, so for that reason this amount of sesame oil probably didn’t overpower the flavor of the tuna.
I prefer tuna with simple seasoning and maybe sesame at the end, too much stuff and you don’t taste that clean, fresh tuna. Also it’s not good to cook with that oil, it’s for flavour and tastes not great if you cook with it.
As a professional chef, I recommend you keep that tuna at the proper temp, under 38 degrees until ready to cook. Fish, especially cut fiah, have certain bacteria and viruses that can become deadly.
@The Antichrist You ruined a beautiful ingredient which gave it’s life for you lmfao. That sesame oil is so overpowering that you won’t even taste the fish.
That’s so bad! To much sesame oil and it’s pure too, don’t add that much it’s overpowering, and way to many sesame seeds you should us less than half of what was added, this is a crime!
Everyone already said the culinary mistakes but let's give a shout-out for that hex-clad skillet!! Best cookware I've ever used in a professional setting
this guy is pretty genius I watched his videos for a long time before I realized he was the owner the first few videos I saw I honestly was like damn that stuff must be good if he uses it on everything he cooks and uses that much of it lol0
Greetings, Mr. Dan-O! I loved the way your dear mother said: Yum- yum- get you some! I love cooking, love your channel! It is the first occasion that I observe one of your video shorts! God bless you, all of your family members and have a beautifully blessed day!
Was gonna comment on how cooking creators these days literally put dan-os on everything, turns out this is the guy. My guy, your marketing worked insanely well! I'm literally a 20 yr old guy from Germany, and I've known about dan-os since like half a year
fun fact dark sesame oil is a garnish and light is for frying, you add dark to the end for the flavor and light for cooking cause dark will lose its flavor
