Being a pilot myself, I actually dropped by your video while exploring the web on details on a model version of this awesome plane. This is so cool! But being used to flying Super Cub and Archer, I have to confess that the landings look pretty scary to me, too! Anyway, if I ever got the chance to give it a try, I probably would. Just because.
Recently heard about the death of Ron Simard while piloting his Nemesis NXT down in Panama. It's sad to lose another pilot, and it the only record of a fatal NXT crash that I'm aware of. After seeing videos of that takeoff incident, and others taken of these awesome racers speed and low AoA stall characteristics, and now having viewed a couple previous clips of this gentleman's piloting ability while flying this manic 720 powered thoroughbred, it just looks like the Nemesis is always a few steps ahead being more like a missile than an airplane.
Awesome, however when speed comes at the price of such a high stall speed, no thanks. If that engine quits, you are a grease stain and a puff of smoke. It would be nice to have an optional, bolt on wing extension that tamed the beast for non race flying.
So many questions! Is it nose heavy with the bigger engine? Doesn't seem to be much stick movement so is it pretty easy to fly? What's the headroom like?
