There is footage at the end of the video shot at night in downtown Chicago. It is not the best low light camera we have. You will want to maximize available light.

nice shots! quick question...if you do a quick zoom in or zoom out with that lens, does the focus stammer at all? I've had issues with that on the AF-100...even when it's in manual focus...

312media, haven't had it happen. Its probably the variable aperture.

Hi, how are you? Great footage! I'm about to acquire an AF 100 and I was just wondering what would be a good all around lens to start with? I understand that there are macro lenses and telephoto lenses and all that, but just to start with, what is a good lens in the 800 or 900 dollar price range? Thanks!

Hey, I am looking to shoot a low budget film on a panasonic ag-af100 and was wondering if they low light capabilities are good enough to shoot at evening/night, in an inner city without lights? thanks. No lights would save me so much hassle and money.

@druwilliams14 Hello! A decent starter lens for that price range would have to be the Lumix 14-140mm featured in this video, but only because it is inexpensive, is a 4/3rds mount, allows for auto focus with the AF and provides decent range. Lumix glass is not very high quality and is quite slow. The 14-140mm is also a variable aperture, which means that the glass gets slower as your focal length increases. If I were you I would look at used PL mount 16mm cine lenses as an alternative.

The 140 looks decent as an all around lens, with sharpness seen particularly at the short focal length. One thing I was glad not to see, was the focus hunting or "racking" that occurs in low light with the Lumix lens (some more than others cough...20mm 1.7...cough).
