Ok, so inorder for the unit to start charging the light has to come on when you plug it in. Because of the design of the power switch module and tight tolerances sometimes when you turn the unit off, it doesnt slide the mechanism back completely, hence if you plug in it will not charge. All you have to do is, turn off device, plug in the charger, and then slightly pull backwards to off positions and on position, untill you see the light come on. The light means the device is charging. Also, for this type of trimmer make sure you grease the clipper as well as the tiny shaft where it mates with the clipper head. If the shaft part isnt greased, it causes too much friction, and these motors are very low torque, so it will just turn on and then turn off after a few seconds.
