Questions. 1) Is there any delay in the audio using this method? 2) Are the levels you hear going through these adapters accurate to what the camera is recording? It's one thing to be able to hear your audio; it's quite another to be able to hear your audio at the same levels your camera is recording them.
nice Deejay this is awesome! I normally use my juiced link but sometimes really don't want a huge box near my camera and wanna go handheld. This is a great solution!
Just make sure you check your camera's HDMI output. I've only Tested this with the G85 and GX85, if the screen goes blank with and HDMI output installed, this solution won't work for your camera.
hi, nice tutorial, i got it working. however, 2 problems. 1. when camera is in any of the photo modes, the audio doesnt come through until press record, bloody annoying but not end of the world. 2. when i have shot a video and press playback, the screen just goes black and doesnt let me see any videos or photos and cant delete any until i unplug the cable... weird. any fix on these 2 silly issues?
Dude, I need your help, I have Hdmi adapter and gx80 (without headphone amp) I just plug adapter in camera and another side to zoom h1 (by jack to jack) And it don't work :( I need this thing very much, please could you help me/
If you are brave enough to open it up you can disconnect the mic and wire it to a 3.5mm jack. If you look around there is a hack like that for the lx100.
@@onelonedork haha...dont know of that im that brave! Thanks though. Saw a vid with a mico hdmi connector to a normal hdmi convertor that also haa an audio output. Im going to try that. Ill add the little amplifier and see if that helps, too.
So, I have two cameras that I still use occasionally as C & D.. The LUMIX G6 and GX7 neither of them will feed to HDMI while recording not to mention the GX7 doesn't have a mic jack anyway. I can't say that I have ever used the audio from either for anything other than syncing so... Are people "rigging out" A6300s? If so is the sound any good?
i used you solution with the g7. Screen DOES NOT TURN BLANK WHEN RECORDING. Audio does not work with live recording. Only before you recording you can monitor audio.
Scott Fielding unfortunately there is no live audio monitoring. I tried messing with the settings. Caugh caugh if majic lantern could come up with some g7 hacks
I think if you can find an adapter without the VGA part and a volume control, you'd be set, or better yet, simply monitor audio via an external HDMI monitor. Still, it was a fun experiment. ;)
I'm looking for a solution that doesn't require syncing it in post. So, I'm still debating whether I should give this solution a go and wondering if it will work with a lav mic
My god. This looks so flymsy and lame. Why not to buy just a Zoom H1? It have great microphone(you can also plug another one to the input), amp and you can use splitter for headphones and also use jack cable to connect with DSLR for amplified signal directly in camera. Jack cable has also bigger compatibility than hdmi dongle.
