Panasonic Lumix GH5: The Ultimate Camera for Content Creators 

Same man! Although I'm eyeing another panny full frame, the micro four thirds system is serving me well for my "pro" gigs! Low light photos is what I struggle with (live music, people shots, etc), but nothing that couldn't be worked around!

It is INSANE how affordable the GH5 is right now! It has twice the features of its full frame brotheren at half the cost lol

@thedarkslide could not agree more. If I'm "needing" that extra resolving power or dynamic range for photos and using the GH5, I'm probably doing landscape photography or something along those lines. If that's the case, I'll likely post the Gh5 on a tripod and run an exposure bracket or stitch an image together. Works for like 95 percent of situations. In addition, I've never had a photoshoot where the client was happy my 45 megapixel camera picked up every pore on their face lol. In short, 20 to 25 megapixes is definitely the sweet spot in my opinion!

I agree. I think it's because of the even more fleshed out video specs, albeit no IBIS. I'd love one too if it came down in price a bit more

Well put. It's a shame because I've had contracts that wouldn't allow me to shoot unless I had full frame, 24 megapixel, and 4k at MINIMUM, which usually ended up as a redundancy as all of the work was viewed on the web and smartphones lol

I could easily have gone the electric sheep route and flocked to Sony ALPHA, or followed the rest of the lemmings off the Canon cliff. However, like Frost, when faced with a fork in the road, one can choose either the well worn path, or the overgrown with vegetation path least travelled. Better still, go where there is no path, and leave a trail… That being said; the GH5II is my tool of choice for professional projects, in fact multiple GH5’s are. The true image quality is in the glass, which is why all our native lenses are either Leica or M.Zuiko PRO, with Voigtlander Nokton (.95), Sigma Art (18-35/1.8), and Zeiss (CP.2) alternatives. I look to acquire a couple more GH5II’s for a more robust setup, the price for performance ratio is the best deal in the market. The GH6 is over bloated, and the new G9II will be perfect when the prices drop on those too. Patience is a virtue and I can wait… I have ZERO issues with low-light even with native glass (1.2 | 1.7) or even third party (.95). The Lumix G9 and GH5II are essentially the same camera, with significantly better low light performance than the original GH5, not to mention sharper too… 🤔

@@MattsNotes Our projects are more film related, and our gear is tailored for streaming and theatrical viewing. Realistically, a GH5 paired with a Atomos Ninja V and AtomX Sync fulfills all the technological requirements anywhere… Can’t really comment on photographic criteria of 24mp, that seems incredibly arbitrary and nonsensical… Legitimately, there are professionals creating industry content for Print | Web | Streaming media using iPhones, that I have personally witnessed myself… Don’t let ignorance and herd mentality slow you down… 🤔
