Amazing my friend! Just so happened to stumble across this video while looking up the GX85, glad that you stumbled across my video as well and nudge you in the direction of giving it a try ;) Your GX85 is the best GX85 footage I have seen, so stunning. Keep it up brother, subbed!
Bought my gx85 back in 2019 on my first trip to Japan, just perfect, great camera, love the 4k, the ibis, size, picture quality, the design, just love it
Loved this video bro! I watch a tonne of camera related videos here on youtube and this felt chill, organic, informative and visually appealing. All the shots and editing was just so spot on! I actually owned this camera briefly and also loved it's amazing output. I ended up selling it to make funds for a big trip I was going on and in my heart I couldn't forget how nice of a camera it was. So much so that I found a mint condition as new one online and will be receiving it in the post in a few days time. I'm excited to create more photos and videos with it and I hope to see more great videos from you too. Warm regards from Australia mate!
don't worry about it not being weather sealed. I've shot with the GX80 in Norway on a mountain during a snow storm without even using a weather sealed lens - and it survived just fine :)
This is my new main camera after starting with the FZ300 bridge camera. I love it and the experience shooting with this light weight camera has been great!
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I've just started using my gx85 for some projects and I really am impressed at how much you get out of such an economical camera. I won't lie though, there are 2 things that have frustrated me with it: 1 - No headphone jack 2 - No swivel display I may just have to get a GH5... I wish there was GX85+ or something with those features, because that's all I'm really missing and the GH5 feels like bulky overkill.
@@EstelonAgarwaen I actually made that mistake! EOS 4000D 😂 5 months later this camera has made 7 music videos and thousands of photos of literally everything. People are like “oh you must have a really expensive camera.”
@@flixbyyogi3850 prople were like: the Sensor is too small yada yada you need full frame so start out on apsc bla bla I was like: more small is more better. was a great decision. The autofocus is just bad in video sadly...
yes! i recently purchased the european version, the GX80 and now use it with my Lumix 20mm f1.7 lens. I love it - easy to carry around, really good jpg quality. A light and easy alternative to my Nikon full frame gear.
I bought one in 2021 with the dual kit lenses (12-32mm and 45-150mm) for only $599 before prices went up. Considering buying either another GX85 or a GX9 for a second body with the other GX85 for a portrait business. Love this camera.
Beautiful work, I love it, I also have the EOS R but I'm missing a camera with truly outstanding IBIS, so this looks incredible. Did you color grade the shots or it's all from camera?
Nice video. My first M43 camera was a new GX85 a few years ago. Since then, I picked up a used one that I had to pay to get fixed, but now I have 2 and they work amazingly well. I have other M43 cameras now but these are just fun to use.
Fantastic footage, brother! I have a GH4, but definitely picking up this awesome camera for its IBIS and price. Best Wishes to you and your girlfriend! 🌟
Hi! I love the colors of ur photos. Maybe u can make a video showing how you process the images? Do you have flickr? I love ur photo editing, its very soft and have nice color, I want to learn! Great video
Great video :) I also have the EOS R with a Tamron 24-70 G2 and I am thinking of getting the GX80 to be able to bring with me everywhere I go. The EOS R with those big and heavy lenses is a great combo for quality but boy am I tired of lugging that stuff around with me.
There is no need to use *24fps* for today's videos. That is a holdover from the early days of cinema, where it was middle ground between quality and cost of film. Using *30fps* will give you a smoother video.
A good review. I enjoy this camera (and his wheather proof sister the G85) for many years now and made some nice videos with it. This camera is imo still underrated. On the market for 4,5 years and has excellent features, like great 4K video and great image stabilisation. That tops many newer camera's. And the price is low. Btw, who is Spencer?
Thank you for the support! Spencer is another RU-vidr with awsome contents about GX85 and other goodies about filmaking. You can search Spencer Whiteman
Beautiful images and footage. Question about the build quality: not even the top piece of metal? I love this rangefinder X-E1 style but I also really like the metal body of my EM-10. I’ll probably opt for the G95 or G9 for the magnesium alloy build and weather sealing. A bit more money but nicer grip / build plus 20mp sensor. Great review, thanks.
The GX85 is almost perfect for personal use. I love mine. The only thing I miss at times is a way to flip the screen forward to take selfies - the lacking feature for a complete "personal use" camera. I'm not a selfie person. But I would like to have that option in a easy way.
Hey ! I’m wanting to start filming and have been looking what gear to get to begin with, Spencer’s video made me consider the Gx85, but your video has fully convinced me ! The shots of your girlfriend are all very beautiful ! I wanted to get the camera through your affiliate link but it’s out of stock there :(... You’ve got yourself a new subscriber though !
Hello my friend! Thanks for stopping by and I am glad that I can help with choosing the right camera for you. GX85 is indeed a gem, the more I pick it up, the more I enjoy using it. Hope you do too!
I was about to get it recently but found a really good bargain for the gx9 with the pancake 12-32 brand new for 560 euro including taxes. I think the improved sensor and processing makes its worth the higher price tag, at least at this price point in my case. Still, not sure if the higher crop factor on 4K video over the gx80\85 will bother me. Btw, I also ordered the panas 15mm 1.7 and 42.5 1.7 for 300 euro each! Wining travel / street photo combo for the size and quailty / price ratio.
Hi Peter, congrats on your new acquired Gx9. I was thinking about gx9 as well. It definitely wins on the sensor which is the same on gh5 and g9. You got a really good deal on it as well if you ask me. I personally got gx85 mainly due to the cost and the more 4k crop on gx9. but at the end of the day, if you enjoy it, its a good camera
i found your channel because of spencer. i have the g85 and olympus em5 mk2. both great cameras. i started with a sony a6000 then a6500. the sony didn't vibe with me because of the small body size, expensive lenses for apsc, and size of my bigger travel bag. i do wonder if the gx85 is a good camera to accompany my travels.
Hi Paul, I just got the GX85 and would like to get some recommendations for the photo settings. right now I am trying to learn how to use it so I’ve been shooting in iA/Raw+Jpeg. I want to start shooting in RAW and I really like how you get your color and textures on your video and pictures. Can you share some of your settings for shooting photo? Or maybe a you tube video on how to set up the GX85 for RAW shooting? I’ve also went and purchase the Lumix G 25 mm lens as well. Thanks and Happy New Year!
Hi Dale, thanks for stopping by. In my opinion, there is no secret sauce for shooting raw as long as you expose the image right (try not to over or under expose if you can and use as low ISO as possible). After getting the images, it's quite a fun process to do some editing in Lightroom. There are tons of good videos of how to color correct & grade imagesin lightroom. Hope it helps!
i just want to get rid of my bulky nikon and canon setup and just get this compact beast with the affordable and compact lenses of Panasonic and Olympus. bb aps-c and full frame, joining m4/3
I have a quick question: im looking to buy this camera, mainly for photography, maybe a bit of video. I dont know what lenses to get though? in terms of themes i shoot landscape, nature, close up and sports/Car photography. If you can reccomend any lenses that are cheap or like a kit that would be lovely :) Thanks
Hi just came across your video and the footage is just beautiful. I am starting with photography and I have opportunity to buy GX80 with 14-140 kit lens for about 780usd brand new. Can you tell me if its still worth it in 2021 and also if you heard about that lens? Thanks a lot
Thanks for coming by Sam! I think GX80 is a very good starter camera. I personally didn't use that lens but I heard it's very versitile. I would suggest getting a fixed focal length lens as well
@@PaulUSCEE Ok @Paul LA I like what you did with the Panasonic GX85. I intend to do what you and Spencer did with the Natural profile on the Panasonic gh5s and Panasonic S5
