I agree, of all the lenses I own the sigma 18-35 is the one stays on my s5 permanently, and I rotate my other lenses on my gh5, plus the fact that it’s zooms internally makes it a bit more gimbal friendly

Hey there, i have never used auto focus with any panasonic cameras, as much as i love those cameras i would never trust to use the auto focus for a paid project so i played and practice a lot to focus manually to be as good as i could, ans i would recommend you to do the same, it's hard at beginning but after you get used to it, you will never go back, good luck 😀

Thank you, I edit my videos by eye, no luts so I charge my style depending on the occasion, but I always make sure to shoot v-log over exposed by 2 stops

@@thatvideoguy4k why overexpose 2 stops? isnt there a risk that you blow out highlights? i also have the S5 but im mostly shooting in HDR10 so its quite different. there you need to pay more attention to bright highlights. i have my sebra pattern at 85% also

@@thebossnocompetition8757 No worries about blowout highlights bro. Vlog profiles handle the highlights very well. Even overexposed to 5 stops, when you corrected everything in post everything so clean

You could check the review S5 by Potato Jet. He overexposed 1 to 5 stops, and after correcting, everything was super clean

@@thatvideoguy4k i think most important is that you are using a calibrated monitor so you know what whitebalance you get. i use an Pioneer KRP 500M from 2008 as reference so ;)

I use premiere pro for my all my editing at the moment, I’m thinking about changing to resolve in the future, but not sure when yet

Hey there I shot this using manual focus with with the sigma 18-35 and a ef mount adapter

I haven't done anything with my V-log setting, but I always try to shoot over exposed by 2 stops to retain more details on the shadows

100% manual bro, since I have moved to Panasonic I have never had the auto focus on as I shoot a lot of weddings and as you know you can’t relay on auto focus on Panasonic cameras yet unfortunately

Hey, yes “film look” is a very subjective term to use, in the case of this video I was talking about the colour separation and natural skin tones, if you have created something better better I would love to see

@@thatvideoguy4k to me the Colour’s look ok, and like you’ve said colour is subjective. I create looks for different films mainly in controlled lighting environments. Nothing wrong with your colours, it’s the sharpness and the digital look I have a problem with. If I may add your saturation is a bit too strong for my taste, skintone on this camera is already very accurate, so not much work needed. And also your grade does not have a look it doesn’t fall into a colour scheme, so you can’t call it really a look if you get what I mean.
