In 1995, Panasonic turned the video world upside down with the introduction of the NV-DX1. It has three sensors, a dream big viewfinder and intends to seduce all image lovers. It records in the new digital DV format, like its rival the Sony VX1000. Its name NV-DX1.
3-chip technology was an incredible small 3CCD camcorder for ambitious videographers. Over 20 Years old DV camcorder still work in 2022. Test footages both day and night scenes.

I found a listing of this on eBay as a "professional camcorder" and laughed at the idea that something that small can be professional or even decent, so tried to find some sample footage Needless to say: I'm blown away by this

CCD/3CCD is true digital film and beautiful. Modern CMOS is sterile and ugly at times.

Well I would argue that ccd struggles in low ish light. That’s where the cmos sensors have got the advantage. But in natural light ccd can look absolutely stunning.

This video sold me on the NV. I just picked up an NV DJ1 and it looks like they're close to the same camera. Do you know what the "Digital 6" stands for?

"Digital 6" for NV-DX1 is a Pal system version. Like "Digicam" for DJ1 should be a NTSC system version. 😊

Do you know any camera that records similar but with a more compact size? and that uses sd cards?

Standard DV video camera, Panasonic SDR-SW21. I think it can fit your requirements. If you want to have a HD video. I think Panasonic HC-X920M is quite a practical appliance. It has the Leica Dicomar Lens and the size is compact. The 12x optical zoom can be used and with SD memory card for video recording.
