as for battery consumption, Sony is the one that consumes less current, but as I said earlier, the Panasonic is the best quality in terms of industry and circuit design. At the end, its up to you to choice, what is the right one for you,

Well Actually, I did not measure the amount of current it consumes, but I can tell you that the battery life of any radio device depends on the amount of volume from the speaker, in other words if you operate the device and raise the volume to a high degree you have to expect that the battery life will be Relatively short

In fact, I prefer the Panasonic over the Sony for several considerations, .the first of which is the method of manufacture, and secondly, the design of the sony radio circuit uses a single ic like the cxa1019 for the radio circuit and the audio section. But in the panasonic radio circuit as Af stage it is Separate form the audio circuit and the audio circuit it is a transformer drive circuit not a ic or a normal transistor one so the panasonic is the best if you can get the original Panasonic and it has the same origin that i did the repair on it Do not hesitate and buy it immediately. Hi After taking a look at the schematic for the model that you asked about, it turned out that it works with a normal tuning circuit, not digital, and frankly, the circuit design is very good. As for build quality and manufacture, unfortunately, this model has not yet came to my hands to for repair so i can not say any thing about the build of it

The latest version sold on Amazon is a DSP radio, no longer true analog, but it is very sensitive, especially on AM, and is almost the exact sensitivity as one of the best radios made for AM, the SANGEAN PR D4W.

@@circuitblog01 The radio has a great ferrite antenna. I looked it up after seeing the video and it`s 5.5 inches. My SANGEAN PR-D4W is 5.7 I think and my SONY ICF-19 is 4.75. They all perform similarly on AM and FM.
